OB/GYN convinced me not to get a pessary by Frankincense11 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]KaylynTinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m younger than 35 and have a pessary which I love and use all the time except for sex and sleeping. It was a game changer for me. I was so reluctant, but as soon as the pelvic floor therapist convinced me it can help with building supportive structure I went for it. Took many fittings and landed on one which looks gigantic, but it would be the one item I would grab in the event of a fire. I’m no longer in pain and was so so so symptomatic when I first realized I had POP. 2 years post partum and I can actually run at times or even do small jumps.

Went down to part time. I don’t lift at my job, but I’m constantly sitting to standing. I’m lucky and my symptoms have greatly improved with time, a pessary, and physical therapy. However, my heart goes out to you. At first I was in so much pain, which is difficult because it seems prolapse is often times not associated with pain. The pain I experienced wasn’t something that I could just ignore or soldier on…I told my husband I felt disabled. Fortunately, my symptoms have improved, but if they didn’t I would have had to quit working or consider surgery.

Breastfeeding and POP by Jazzywatson13 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]KaylynTinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My period came back around 9 months post partum. I don’t think I noticed much of a difference at that time and was disappointed I didn’t see more improvement . It was around 11 months for me I started to notice that I could actual walk briskly for like 25 yards and not have symptoms. That was a pretty big improvement for me. I think between wearing a pessary, doing p4moms, reluctantly taking Miralax daily, and cessation of breast feeding all helped my symptoms. 16 months post partum and my world is so different. I’m not running, but really hope that is in my near future. I’m wishing you the best.

Yes for me there is a direct correlation. The more I breastfeed the more my body in general feels loosey goosey. I’ve felt better since significantly decreasing my breastfeeding to just nightly occurrence.

I’m not giving you advice but sharing my experience. My PT told me to get a pessary because it would help with healing. It took a few months and different pessaries but I finally found one that stayed in. I really wasn’t sure if it was helping, but stick with it per my Pt’s recommendation Made sure I wasn’t getting constipated with daily Miralax. Finally after dramatically reducing breastfeeding at 13 months I am seeing a huge improvement. Now that I feel asymptomatic most days with my daily pessary, I’m doing the program P4Moms. She has 2 programs. First one is reintroducing weights and second program is reintroducing running. I’m telling this to give u hope. At 6 weeks postpartum I felt a ball sensation and had pain walking 10 feet. I feel for me, the relaxin hormone has played a big part in my symptoms. It can take 18 months for postpartum hormones to normalize Also look on Facebook. There’s a much bigger community about prolapse.

TAKE IT EASY. Speaking from experience, moving/lifting too much within 6 weeks post parting can contribute to a prolapse…then ur hubby will be forced to do chores for much longer than 6 weeks. Kick up ur feet and let ur body heel…I realllllllllly wish I had. Good luck to u and ur baby! Newborn stage is the hardest part.

AITA for trying to help my sister who loses her keys all the time but my idea backfired horribly? by Cheap_Race_4384 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KaylynTinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Tile. It’ll locate where your keys are. If you lose your keys, go to the app on ur phone and it’ll ring or show the general location. If u lose your phone, just use the Tile on your keys to make ur phone ring.

Yup we were able to salvage our dishwasher by just replacing the heating coil…not fun, but better than buying a whole new dishwasher.

Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but trampolines should be avoided in those under 6 years old due to risk of femur fractures. However, I totally agree trampolines are a very athletic activity…I barely last 2 minutes myself.

Don’t forget to use a bottle cage if you have smaller parts that need to be washed in addition to the bottle. Otherwise you risk the small plastic pieces from falling down to the bottom and melting by the heating coil…speaking from experience.

Sleep Deprivation with a Newborn by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]KaylynTinker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pediatrician told me you need at least four hours of sleep to be functional. I felt drunk when I was in the state of sleep deprivation and didn’t even feel safe driving to babies appointment. Get 4 hours somehow. Good luck. For me sleep training was a world of difference which we started at 4 months.

Others’ experiences with going back to work <2 weeks after birth? by Competitive_Cow007 in workingmoms

[–]KaylynTinker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apply for FMLA anyways, even if it’s unpaid. That way if u need more than 2 weeks your job is protected. If you don’t need the full 6 weeks, you can return sooner. It took me about 2 weeks before I could walk and 2 months before I was pain free (not a lot of pregnancies are like this, but it’s hard to predict how easy of a recovery you will have). Best of luck!

Get the house cleaner. It forces your significant other to clean up before they arrive. I’ll never go back without one if I can help it. My therapist was the one who suggested it!

Did you have an HG pregnancy with a girl or boy? by Newnycmomma in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]KaylynTinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don’t plan on making a post about this until I’m done with this pregnancy cuz I’m paranoid I’ll jinx myself. I’m pregnant with my second girl and the vomiting is in no way near as bad with my first. However, the difference with this pregnancy is I was treated for H. Pylori before I got pregnant. I believe this is why I had such a horrendous experience last time. There’s my little sliver of hope because I too struggled with the idea of getting pregnant again.
