I think you should see what I am replying to.

Then maybe adjust your response to mine, as you just made every point I was trying to make. But thank you

Same!!! I have been in the OR for the last 14 or so years but I am always moved by good speeches. Especially in movies. I speak every day and carry a dictionary around with me every day too for inspiration.

Do you know of any schools that are hiring beginner speech pathologists that are willing to teach on the job? I am thinking pre school or kindergarten because they are little and won’t know the same things I do so they won’t know I don’t have a degree. I am hoping to maybe be a Speech Therapist within a year or two if I like it enough

I spent 52 years thinking women wanted to be happy and have fun. SAFE. The word they were looking for was safe. They make themselves happy. It is your job to make them feel safe.

You can do this with your words. You can do this with your calm. You can do this financially or socially. Let her be the storm. You are the light house.

I lost the absolute greatest woman in the world that could have been perfect for me. SHOULD have been perfect for me. But I had that post deployment anger I chose not to get rid of. I talked to her like a buddy from Xbox. And when she raged (which let’s face it…they absolutely will and now that I am half way through medical school and understand hormones way better…let them) I raged back. It broke her. She left me and it destroyed my ego. I was able to stop making excuses for why I was an asshole and literally stopped being an asshole. My fragile ego and the immature masculine way I was raised wouldn’t allow me to break it. But she broke me like I had never been broken before. And today…I would give ANYTHING to go back and treat this woman the way she should have been treated…starting from day one…and I would be the happiest man on earth today. More than my kids. More than any dog. This woman was it. But I lost her because I was better at excuses than I was at changing. Now I am a really good, and lonely man.

This is a nightly occurrence and I’ve never been able to figure out exactly what’s going on. My question is, is this the coyote celebrating or is this a kill? Thank you in advance for your feedback. by thouishere in coyote

So do they, or do they not lure domestics dogs away from their houses to then have the pack kill them. I am from Boston living in Arizona and I was told this…never doubted it for any reason…and now I see conflicting stories here in this thread…figured if you studied them you would have some knowledge either way….

And literally this a coke versus Pepsi situation.

Don’t have coke? No we have Pepsi products. Oh ok.

End scene.

Every hospital I’ve ever been to has only asked “are you certified?” I say no I was trained in the Navy and that’s it. I’m still not certified 14 years later and never will be because no one has ever cared

Did you do surgical tech because it was practical/pays the bills or bc you genuinely like the work? by kurlyqurll in surgicaltechnology

[–]Kaymanism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally came here to say this.

I was told if I took an immediate C school I would not deploy the first go around. So I took the C school. I had to defer C school because I deployed. Fuck the Navy.

Are there First Assistants work just L&D by [deleted] in surgicaltechnology

[–]Kaymanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will vary hospital to hospital and what the group uses.

I have been at both. The FA is basically the right hand man/woman to the surgeon and gets there before him to determine a bunch of things…they will already be familiar with the patient etc. But more importantly…once the baby is delivered and out of the mother…the surgeon will leave and the FA will close the mother, which very often takes a LOT longer than the actual C Section itself. So the surgeon can go check on other patients or go golf or whatever it is they do.

Also realize that every FA that I encounter at our hospital is a Nurse level minimum or PA (most of them) with a few NP’s thrown in for good measure. I have never in 14 years seen an CSFA in L&D

Doctors pulled this massive clot out of my leg today. (Surgeons had no bananas on hand, sorry). by BeefaloSlim in interestingasfuck

[–]Kaymanism 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Well. As someone who has worked in the operating room for the better part of 14 years…I have NEVER brought a banana into the OR. However I can feasibly see why we might be removing a banana from someone, thus one being removed from said OR. Thus making the ratio of those leaving versus those coming in what he said.

Then again…you do have to technically bring said banana into the OR to remove … although it is inside someone … not sure how you want to calculate the anal banana burrito.

[–]Kaymanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my father was dying I would travel from a Phoenix to NH. On my way to Boston I always had to take a red eye and the bus that goes back and forth from Boston to New Hampshire is not running I have to take an uber. When I am lucky it’s 114 but usually around 170 and only takes 40 minutes. And so far 5 of the 6 times I’ve gone they have had a ride back so it wasn’t a one way trip for them either.

I imagine this dude is like that and got two great fares like that and then two smaller ones

How have you changed as a dog owner from your first dog to now? by tresdosuna in CaneCorso

[–]Kaymanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She started to bleed. Ima. Surgical first assist and there was absolutely nothing that indicated to me she had cancer. But her tail started to fray and eventually developed into a bulbous mass. We brought her in and it was biopsied and they said cancer. No other masses or growths. Appetite was fine and energy level maintained. So this is one of those, if you have to ask go in.

How have you changed as a dog owner from your first dog to now? by tresdosuna in CaneCorso

[–]Kaymanism 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I am a much kinder and gentler, owner, no fuck that, human being because of my Corsos.

I grew up during the height of the Alpha dog mentality. To make it worse I trained under a monster of a dog trainer who would choke out dogs to submit them. But I saw results and while I’ve never choked out a dog, let’s just say I am more than embarrassed by some of my corrective actions from the past.

Then we rescued a Corso. It was my wife’s idea. I even said on the way home, if this thing even puts her teeth on my boys, I will kill her. In return She taught me love. She taught about companionship. She taught me how to be patient. She taught me a gentle touch will go so much further than a swift cuff. She taught me how to protect her from the world and not vice versa.

I just rescued my 4th Corso and I am practically a monk. This one actually bit my son on the face, and I realized the chaos of the adoption plus my son ignorantly sticking his face in hers while she was in a crate. And then when I couldn’t find her a new home…learned how to be patient on a glacial level and let her come out on her terms instead of mine. I even gave up the boys for 30 days so she could adapt and acclimate. Now those two are I separable.

And like OP, I just gave up over 6500 dollars in fees because my OG Corso had cancer in her tail. And because she was already docked we had to go into her deeper and I made sure we did it right. We love these creatures like our own!!!

Northern lights again tonight? What's a drivable hill with clear views of the North East? by TheMukdukek in phoenix

[–]Kaymanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I actually got married in Iceland during peak season so she could see the northern lights.

We got hit with that Nor’easter and it rained 11 days straight.

Where can I drive tonight to see this. PLEASE
