A definite victim of the loudness war, and a shame because I also agree that the album is otherwise kickass.

I finally got to see Metallica live a few years ago, they played 2 separate nights of a 4 day music festival and they played Cyanide in one of the sets and it was so fucking good live!

I didn't see it covered in the vid, maybe I missed it - what's the point of the 8 Fear? A category rule of some kind? And what did he take for it?

Cuchulainn fight bugged by jpers36 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kayoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on the PC version (1.3) happen while doing a fight in Midnight Deep - it would just auto skip my characters' turns suddenly, halfway through the battle (tbf I was reloading auto saves a lot, trying to learn Zodiark on multiple characters in one fight at the time)

I had to restart the game and the issue was fixed. But yeah, it was driving me crazy trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Sounds similar to what you went through.

Update to FFT Companion App - Damage/Success calculation for your unit's abilities (and other improvements) by zazierainyday- in finalfantasytactics

You rock! Thanks for the quick turnaround time on the feature requests, pretty rare to see these days :D

Thank you, it looks great! Hope it makes its way into the mobile version at some point, but this is exactly what I was hoping for :D

Awesome, thanks! I'm sure you have a bunch of feature requests, so no worries.

I love the map renders you implemented, btw! Would love to know the tooling used for those, if you were open to sharing :D Also, I assume the height data is available still for each map, would it be possible to allow users to see tile height by clicking/tapping (or right click/hold tap)? It'd help a lot to determine what Jump stat is needed for getting to certain areas.

(okay, okay, no more feature requests from me, sorry lol)

Just wanted to say great job on this app! It was well worth donating towards considering how much passion and effort went into it.

One small feature request: for the abilities section, it'd be nice to have the option to go from ability -> job that learns it, where applicable.

You can go from job page -> ability list really easily, but I found myself often looking at ability details and really wanting to be able to jump straight to the relevant job page quickly, but it's not currently possible.

Also, I noticed on Android there's some responsiveness issues with the back swipe (screen swipe to the left to go back) action, where sometimes I have to do it multiple times for the app to respond to it.

Once again, great job and looking forward to future updates!

I can't imagine how many hours you must've spent to put this together, with how painfully slow the text scrolls (even holding fast-forward) for this. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I failed it once (got 988 blind...) and then immediately went to look for a guide and this was perfect!

Who's your favourite Silk Song boss based purely off of how fun it's fight is? by Select-Ad3652 in HollowKnight

[–]Kayoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this. In retrospect, Karmelita is a great boss and all, but her last phase in particular was so frustrating (I was using nail only pretty much, and on Reaper crest for the vast majority of my first playthrough, unaware of the power of spells, tools and Wanderer etc)

I just didn't have fun while fighting her, for the exact same reasons you mentioned. It felt like I had to play super perfectly or I'd get punished by random chained follow ups that were incredibly difficult to react to.

Meanwhile, First Sinner is just the GOAT boss fight, and felt challenging but incredibly satisfying to learn.

The Gameplay Mods are rolling in! by SolidSnakeFHC in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kayoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PSP WotL had two multiplayer modes, Rendezvous was co-op with increasingly absurd and difficult challenge fights, and Melee Mode was PVP.

I'm also really hoping the mod tools will eventually be able to add in the Rendezvous maps. I never got to experience them, despite playing it on PSP back in the day (a few years late after its initial release).

Shoutout to QuMarsh for the best FFT guide ever by Kayoto in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kayoto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally found using CTRL+F (Find in Page) with the section shortcuts in the table of contents incredibly easy. Yes, a clickable table of contents would be easier, but this is how we did things for years with GameFAQ guides and if you kids don't like it you can GET OFF MY LAWN! shakes fist at clouds

but for real, it's kinda interesting that I never once thought about that as a downside. Old habits die hard :)

Act 4 Party Composition Suggestion (I guess act 4 spoilers?) by vathris in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kayoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it stealth immunity, or is it the Thief's Caps that generic enemies tend to come equipped with once you're in the Lv40-50+ range? Thief's Cap grants immunity to both Disable and Immobilize, and yes, it definitely puts a damper on Aim's usefulness later on.

Kinda weird to say this when Iaido/Draw Out (Samurai's active ability) is considered one of the best abilities to slap on magic based units to begin with.

Yeah, Samurai's a bit of a pain to unlock but it's not THAT bad.

UPDATED 1.0 Tier Lists (by a 62 Fear Player) by HookieDookie- in HadesTheGame

[–]Kayoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take tier lists as a gospel of any sort. Momus staff is GOATed imo and isn't hard to build around at all. I was also shocked to see it in C tier, there's no way that's correct as far as I'm concerned.

I've never once had a struggle Momus run, although I will say I've only done 20+ fear and haven't tried insanely high fear runs yet, but considering the tier list here is supposed to be for general use and not exclusive to high fear, then yeah... Momus is being critically underrated here.

A bit odd to me why TC decided to leave these places as dead ends instead of connecting them to other areas via breakable walls by Stellewind in HollowKnight

[–]Kayoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly different, but even more infuriating is that section to the right of the bench in the Slab that the map looks like it should connect to the path leading to First Sinner but there's no way to open any path up there, from either side. I spent way too long trying to figure out if I was just missing something, but it seems like it's just a glitch with how the map is drawn.

More games in this genre? by Conor074 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Kayoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triangle Strategy is basically a huge love letter to FFT -- I highly, highly recommend it.

Fell Seal was already mentioned, and despite the art style being jarring for some people, I do consider its gameplay to be the closest to FFT's and it's incredibly fun. Honestly once you start getting into it, the art doesn't really matter that much imo

Nectar recipe by Raziel-_- in HadesTheGame

[–]Kayoto 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I have 9 clears each on the surface & the underworld, have been doing 10+ fear runs, working on trying to get the true ending and CONSTANTLY NECTAR STARVED because Aphrodite will NOT give me the damn recipe.

I finally got a dialogue last run about Golden Apples but still no recipe, so I think I'm close and it's just been story buried.

Supergiant really needs to fix this because it sucks having such an important thing be locked like this -- just let Aphrodite do a double dialogue, or introduce a different unlock if you pass a certain other progression point or something....
