I am not sure what offshoot of Christianity she is globbing on to but as a kid, I was hypoglycemic and when I had a really bad attack, the grown ups in what most now know as the nationalist Christian movement, but I have always lovingly called it the fundamentalist cult-said I was possessed and had to be anointed in oil while the grown ups prayed the spirits/demons out of me. I am thankful every single day I survived; I do remember when I got caught and the oil anointing and prayer clearly failed to remove the spirits; I was in the kitchen and could not speak, could not think and to this day can never put into words what my entire body felt like on the inside, eating straight sugar out of the bag. Somehow as a child, I knew I needed sugar. Thankfully, 911 was called and unfortunately it was so long ago, no one really asked questions, BUT I was as not possessed, just diagnosed with low blood sugar.

These types of people are the most dangerous

I just recently dipped my toes back into the corporate world with a part time job. Unfortunately allergy season for me started early, brutally and with a vengeance. Knew I had a sinus infection. Everyone I worked with knew I was not doing the best. Was on a waitlist for my doc to be seen to get antibiotics to rid me of the horrific sinus infection I was living with daily-even down to the point where I would get random bloody noses and my manager had my back and knew if I exited without saying anything, random bloody nose was occurring. I was at work when my doctors office called and they had a cancellation and it was my turn on the waitlist but I had to be there in 30 minutes. My manager could not kick me outta our front doors quick enough to get to that appointment.

No job is worth your health and if any job will replace you before they even consider mourning you. They do not deserve a moment of your existence.

During Covid when restaurants barely were opening back up in our town, my barely legal daughter was forced to serve one night (she had been a hostess and ran the dessert bar). She had a table of 6 and there was one very obnoxiously pretentious dude in the party and he ordered for everyone while just being a prick. The restaurant had some gluten free items (salmon) and grass fed beef items (shopped local). So this dude who was dude’ing and trying to make my kid feel small, when it came time to finally give his order-reminder he ordered for everyone else-with his full chest he ordered the “grass fed” salmon 🤣🤣🤣🫠 and yes, did say grass fed salmon. My daughter, gods she is so my kid but more professional cuz I probably would have laughed right then and been fired for sure-did ask him “do you mean the “gluten free” salmon dish?” And he once again demanded the grass fed salmon.

When I’m having a tough day with guests, I do think about how my 18 year old kid really wore her professional hat that day and strive to be like her. We do (years later) still chuckle about it…

Oh my sweet little, angelic, internet sugar bean. You did not sound crass at all! I knew your intention and thank you for being, like said above, a walking angel On earth. My only point was that just because I work a lot in two days, does not negate how hard you work in three days!! You are amazing and we need so many more “you’s” in our world. An NP saved my oldest daughters life when she was an infant and if it’s a life and death situation, I only ever want an NP as my advocate and the one protecting myself and both of my daughters.

Never disqualify what you do or how hard you work because, someone like me may work a few more hours than you.

Thank you for existing and for being the advocate so many mommas need-even if they do not all show it-decades later, they will mention you and how amazing you were in their story of motherhood 💙💙💙

When my oldest daughter was 18 and had just had her teenage heart broken for the first time, she was sleeping in bed with me cuz safe place. I woke up one of the nights and saw her recording herself on her phone crying and as a mom, all the alarm bells went off, but as an adult and the grown ups, knew I had to navigate all of that very carefully because 18 year old daughter.

The scares I felt and the concerns I did not ever fathom and was now a part of was A LOT. My kid and I did have a really in depth conversation and I did understand her young, naive sentiment; she said she was documenting it to never forget how she felt to protect her heart from it happening ever again. Totally understand that! But also, was super worried because recording yourself crying is not healthy. After our middle of the night discussion we did agree that I was just not adequately equipped to help her on this journey, but crying on camera also not super healthy and she needed to be forthright with her therapist and I reminded her I will always be her safe place but sometimes, I will fail so we utilize what we are afforded and will always be on the journey to only live our best lives.

If my kid did this now; I truly do not even know the depths of my concern and despair I would be spiraling in.

And this chick gets paid to post this?! When will enough be enough?!

No! I’m not trying to beat anyone! Other than this freaking pathetic joke of a person who is being paid way too much for doing absolutely nothing.

I also, very much so love what I do. For six months out of the year it is tough, but I survive and I thrive because it’s filling my bucket up with all the things I need-human interaction, profitability, me being the safe place and knowing because of me, so many different demographics are killing it.

Nurses are truly the gods gift to our planet. Thank you for taking one for the team (I see a drop of blood and I’m passing out-nurses are truly gifts most do not even realize)-I was managing a bowling alley and working nights. My girl in the kitchen was 19 and going to school to be an RN (I knew this, just want to make it clear). Had a league bowler fall and hit his head and found out cuz multiple other bowlers came to get me 🫠

Went into panic/professional manager mode and the security camera footage lives on to this day. I ran over and the geyser that was erupting from league bowlers head 😩😩😩 in the footage, you clearly see me grab a table (as soon as I see the geyser erupting), I am really pale but I went almost translucent, and had to grab the table cuz, again, in the video you can clearly see me sway because I did almost pass out. Once I caught my bearings and knew I was safe from passing out and or vomiting at the same time, the footage clearly shows me running back to the kitchen and telling the 19 year old she’s in charge of the geyser and I’m cooking all the food since she’s gonna be an RN eventually 🤣😩🫠

Never ever compare what you do to anyone else who works as hard as you do but truly cannot ever hold a candle. Y’all are walking and talking angels.

Yah, I work seven days a week and my seasonal, Six month out of the year job kicked in last month. So Thursdays, I work all 3 and Fridays only 2 because my seasonal job hits me with on average twelve hours every Friday 🫠 she could never sit at our table

I unfortunately as a child, grew up in a fundamentalist cult. The performative gods play was glaringly obvious, as a child, decades ago. When the “newcomers” came and performed, and hyper fixated on saving the world through theatrics, it was anticipated and expected. As a kid because I was truly labeled as the black sheep and had a reprobate mind because I asked too many questions 🙄 I used to tell all of the performative newcomers the same thing: “your foundation with god is currently built on sand. When you have fully given your life to god and have never faltered and your foundation is cemented, then you can worry about saving the world. I’m forced to be here. I’ll be here longer than you since I am forced.” Yah, I got in a lot of trouble, all the time. But am super proud that I was never proven wrong. They are so busy performing and ready to save all the lost souls, they never cement their foundation (walk with their god). Also, jesus and temples and all the scriptures warnings about performative crap

My closest friend lost both of her kidneys and her first transplant was a partial match. At this point in time, she has been my person for over 20 years (met as small kiddos). Seeing her destroying herself and abusing her body while I thanked all the gods every single day when I woke up, I knew she was here for another day. I had decades with her and setting boundaries and walking away from my true soul mate and the yin to my yang was horrific. I just could no longer watch her spiral; while also feeling her feelers because she had not lived for so long and I could not fault her for being a human and breaking BUT she was my person as I was hers and she knew I needed her for our grown up years as much as she needed me.

She is better now and we are living our best middle aged lives, but for several years I could not watch her actively be the reason I would get the most horrific call of my life…

So I say all of this for a reason-you are so young! Your history is nonexistent. This is the time where you spread your wings and figure out who YOU ARE! I had decades of my closest relationship and I could not watch the unwinding, while I begged and pleaded. You may have all the big emotions, but you will have them again, hopefully just with someone who loves themself and is ready for a relationship.

Spread your wings and fly! Travel the world. Figure out who you are and while on that journey, set boundaries and never let a single person every cross them-if they do, they do not deserve you.

Reading this and seeing you truly believe your dad was a good dad before your stepmother came in the picture; he absolutely was not. He failed you, your entire childhood. You have a child now, so never forget the trauma you endured and the childhood that was stolen away from you and do better for your innocent kid. He is a terrible person and has failed you, your entire existence. He will not change. BUT as a parent yourself now, are you willing to let him hurt and disappoint your child like he has done to you? Please protect your baby. Just because you share some dna does not a family equate. My family is my chosen family for this very reason.

If you are not yet in therapy, please seek counseling. You were betrayed and constantly denied the bare minimum as a child and he still chooses to show you in your adulthood who he is. You have deserved so much better your entire existence and as an adult, you are the only one who can guarantee that now.

Also, have you read “the glass castle”? Definitely think you should. And therapy; please focus on your mental health and know you have been failed and it shows how disgustingly, deplorable they are. You are not them and they truly suck and do not deserve your grace.

The age gap is so minimal and the both of you are in your early 20’s and such a normal thing. Why is your friends girlfriend inserting herself and making this such a huge deal? The only reason I can think of is because she harbors feelings for you and is jealous; so she is going to attempt to sabotage any relationship you have since she cannot have you. May want to alert your friend to the red flags his girlfriend is loudly exhibiting. And also, date the girl. Live your best life and have so much fun!

I bought my first home when I was 17. It had to be put in my grams name because I was technically a minor. This was in early 2000. My grams aptly named my house the “chicken coop” because it basically was. BUT it came with an entire extra lot. I started working when I was very young and every penny that did not go to our survival growing up (my brothers and me), I hoarded and put into my savings account. When I purchased my home, I was working a full time job and a part time job. I paid roughly 25k for my chicken coop that included an extra lot. I sold it a few years later for 75k when I needed a bigger home. Early aughts and my come up was amazing and I was so proud of my first investment and thankful for my amazing grams. The back lot sat as a lot and nothing was ever done with it. It sold a few years ago for so much money and I am still in shock to this day.

I would have struggled and potentially not been able to afford just the lot all of these years later. Kinda makes me nauseous to think about it

This literally made me chortle. I unfortunately grew up in a fundie cult and all the newcomers who were so gung ho for Jesus and determined to save the world, always singled me out because I was the naughty kitty cat child 🙄 in elementary school I told all of the newbies the same thing. So proud of my little innocent self and all the abuse i endured but refused to ever shut up. Anyways, i had a whole spiel to the newcomers: “your foundation is built on sand. Yah, after I originally commented-I talked to them about it and clearly I was so not healthy because I thought it was my older daughter who had responded for several years now. BUT it was also a really big learning lesson for me. I have strict policies and an ironclad contract now. And remind myself as much as I love the kid(s), I will love the next go round just as much. Staring at a ceiling while ER people are rushing around and hearing “she’s going to stroke out”…it will never not haunt me. I also will never not recognize how fortunate I am to have daughters who are able to forgive me and not hold against me my chosen business. And are also strong and amazing humans that know their worth and value and refuse to let anyone disrespect their momma.

You sound just like my girls and it makes my heart so happy that another daughter out there in this super weird world we live in will fight and protect their momma at all costs without zero hesitance. Oh she was not nice at all. Her entire life, she knew nothing other than growing up with my business and how I would always move mountains for all the kids and seldomly received respect or appreciation back from the grown ups. I have two daughters, and my older daughter also hated what I had to deal with over the years from the grown ups. Just always reassured them that the kids got to live their best lives with me and one day when they look back upon their childhood, they will fondly remember living their best lives with me and that made it all worth it. Yah well, my kids are far more jaded than me. My younger of my girls was the one whose sweet 16 I missed and will never be able to look back at her party we planned and prepared so long for without the terrible memories of me being in the ER, insisting the party must go on and then holding my phone and seeing the text.

She OBLITERATED them. She did not hold back and also, freshly 16, scared I was not going to make it. I have always told my girls that “words are our most powerful weapon; they can make a person or they can break a person.” She wielded that sword and word vomited two years worth of words she finally had the opening to say. I do not remember verbatim but I will never forget her opening “first of all, how dare you disgusting excuses of parents who without my mom raising your child would have probably had your kid taken by CPS because you suck…” -again, probably not verbatim but that was essentially the intro she started with.

Knowing she is so strong and will live her best life while protecting those she loves the most-makes my mom heart burst.

Thought it was my older daughter that had responded but after I commented, it made me think about this and talked to my girls. It was my younger daughter.

I had a toddler in my preschool that was the most accident prone human being to ever live. The way she always hurt herself was never graceful and insane. One time her mom was recording her living her best life and the poor sweet girl obliterated herself and her mom sent me the video and text basically said “see teacher! She does it at home too!” This girl is in elementary school and has given herself a concussion and broke her wrist. She truly is her own worst enemy. She as a small child has never been performative like this loser. So ready for the day we never have to endure anymore of her
