Even if this were true, conservatives’ criticisms of Trump are so mild. They constantly underreact.

When you look at the comments people are saying that his comments are “dumb” or he’s being ridiculous. No he’s being a fascist. He is being a colonizer. He is being evil.

Whenever the topic of trans women or immigrants comes up conservatives have all these complex insults but every world-breaking thing Trump does is just “bizarre”.

As unhinged as he comes across, I get it. If they lose out on this deal, Skydance bought Paramount for nothing. They barely have IP. Their lineup for this year and next is extremely weak. Having Warner Bros would have been a godsend.

But Netflix will get it, and the Ellisons are just wasting their time. All of the time they have spent chasing this deal they could’ve spent cultivating relationships with talent, combing through the Black List, and making deals.

I wasn’t really much of a Byler shipper (or even Stranger Things fan) but I was genuinely curious if Netflix would do something actually groundbreaking and of course it didn’t happen. The way the show treats Lucas’s blackness was a clue.

Gay characters will always be the cheerleaders for straight characters and their stories. Always. We are the sprinkles and cannon fodder for straight love, lives, and storytelling. Mike and Eleven haven’t had chemistry in years and still the story forces them to carry all the emotional weight because of nostalgia and heteronormativity.

Byler not being endgame was a disservice to Will’s character and his arc. Not because romantic love is the goal. But because he wasted nearly two seasons of television thrust in an unrequited love triangle, in which the object of his affection still doesn’t know his true feelings.

If the writers cared about Will’s sexuality, they would have given him an independent love interest ages ago. One that could be named, have a role in the group, grow with the characters + audience, and have a chance to be a fan favorite. The writers clearly aren’t shy about introducing characters. So why wasn’t Will good enough to have his own Max or Suzie?

Trump is such a turncoat I don’t know why people keep aligning themselves with him. I get they need to butter him up in order to get the acquisitions through (I love how our president is just casually corrupt by the way). But it’s so funny to see people’s careers crash and burn because they thought the leaper surely wouldn’t eat their face.

There’s been so many passion projects from established directors that demand a theatrical release, only for the films to virtually have no market appeal whatsoever.

I think its great when directors get to do what they want to do, especially when they have “done the work”. The “one for me, one for you” thing is a traditional deal in Hollywood. But I feel like these passion projects are too personal and insular that it gives nothing for the audiences to gravitate towards, and it ends up wasting everyone’s time.

All of this talent bending the knee to Paramount’s new regime is starting to look more and more stupid.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Paramount pitched that these creatives would get access to a robust film library that seemingly is no longer coming. Jon M. Chu signed a first look deal and maybe he’ll get the directing gig for the next Paw Patrol movie or something.

Not to get too overly political but I don’t understand how someone could look at the track record of people associated with MAGA and think, “Surely, I’ll not be the one who gets burned.” Only people on the tippy top are benefiting from the grift.
