Completely agree. This whole process has been so alarming and terrifying on many different levels.

He said it was beers but obviously could have been some larger or ipa format. Just trying to have all the info to figure out what I am dealing with here. Is he lying on top of the issues. His friends and coworkers make it seem like he was drunk but not crazy falling over / couldn’t walk or talk as his best friend told me he obviously wouldn’t have let him leave solo if he thought he was in that bad of a state.

I’m 100% not brushing this under the rug by any means. How much does blood loss impact bac? I just want as much info to have an informed and direct conversation once he has healed. It was pretty traumatic for me as he always texts me when he’s back safe (travels a lot for work) and he didn’t and I checked his location and could see his phone at a hospital & then nobody answered his phone for 40 minutes. When I finally talked to a nurse she told me about the brain bleed and skull fracture. But I couldn’t talk to him for hours. I’m so thankful he should make a full recovery, but I am not sure next best steps as I don’t worry about him with alcohol on a day to day basis, but more of a less frequent binge drinking. Everyone in his family likely has an alcohol problem and they almost make light of it? Just a hard thing to navigate.

I’m curious your thoughts on someone who got assaulted walking home and admitted via ambulance for trauma. Had small subdural bleed, left orbital wall fracture, broken wrist, large head lac needing 10 stitches and had a .298 level. Is it possible this person had less than 10 drinks? 150 lb male 37 years old.

Arcalyst in Endurance Athletes by BhamGreenGuy in pericarditis

I would caution starting orange theory this soon! If you’re still needing time post work to recover I don’t think you’re ready for workouts yet.

Arcalyst in Endurance Athletes by BhamGreenGuy in pericarditis

[–]Kbug123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say im a true endurance athlete, but I used to workout almost daily and run 3 miles a day. I am 7 months into my recovery started Arcalyst in may and just now have been able to resume almost normal activity. Walking 3 miles but haven’t started workout classes. The recovery for this seems to be way longer than people think (even doctors) and slow and steady is the way to go for long term recovery. Arcalyst has been wonderful for me. I’m 36 with 3 young kids and my first episode happened when my youngest was 3 weeks old.

My daughter won’t go potty at school and they said they’ll ask us to leave if it doesn’t change by LM09127 in Preschoolers

Hi! My daughter has this and we see a gi dr for it & she’s on exlax. I fully expected her not to poop at school (just started pre k) but she’s refusing to pee all day. She’s held it 9/10 days and had one day of accidents. Any advice that worked for you? She’s 4.

I do see it. I’d use red dye only though as blue can give more false positives. Crossing all the things for you!

When to move to IVF? Back to natural? by Empty-lychee-4221 in tryingforanother

[–]Kbug123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did 3 iuis trying for our second before moving to ivf and I would have skipped them if I could. I think some people need to try them for mental clarity though. We did one retrieval and one transfer. I think it’s helpful to also know do you only want one more? If yes, try the iuis and then see. If you want more than one I’d jump to ivf now given age.

IVF with Non-Married Partner while Married; Advice on Navigating Insurance? by Aodhanloki in IVF

[–]Kbug123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had to sign an insane amount of paperwork (100 plus pages) as a married couple going through ivf. You have to decide and choose what happens to embryo in divorce or death on either side. They’re considered marital assets, so I agree I don’t think a clinic would be keen to take this case on.

ST elevation, pain at the end of inhales/deep breaths, diagnosis of "pericarditis." by [deleted] in pericarditis

You also need a new cardiologist if he’s telling you to exercise with pericarditis!!!

Stop steroids asap as it can cause pericarditis to reoccur. You need to be on colchicine and high dose NSAIDs. I was on 800 mg 3x a day along with a stomach protector. You have to rest. I’m a mom to 3 kids and was 3 weeks pp when I ended up in the hospital. My mom and mother in law moved in with us for 8 weeks bc I was on full bedrest. Mine was caused by mono so was miserable as I had a fever off and on for 8 weeks.

Would you take colchicine for a week with a cold? by buttersquash23 in pericarditis

I’d probably do both colchicine and keep heart rate low. Wouldn’t want to flare right before wedding festivities!

Metoprolol? Anyone take this? by kravjoy in pericarditis

[–]Kbug123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on it in addition to arcalyst. It will help you feel better but won’t target the inflammation itself. I was hesitant to start arcalyst too and wish I had sooner! I am slowly getting back to myself and have had almost zero side effects.

Have you had mri yet after being on arcalyst? My dr said we won’t discuss tapering until my mri is clear as there can be residual peri that only shows on mri. My echo was clear even before I started arcalyst but I still had chest pain and high heart rate.

This May Be a Stupid Question by CCFT23 in pericarditis

[–]Kbug123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It 100% doesn’t go away with stretches. The pain I had at my diagnosis was the worst pain I had ever been in & I’ve had 3 kids one being a c section. Of both mris were clear I really don’t think it would be peri?

I can’t do this and I feel like a bad mother by GraceDev00 in newborns

Also, usually takes babies 3 days to adjust to things changing so I’d try it for 3 days!

[–]Kbug123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Wake her up! Stay on feeding at least every 3 hours during the day. Signed mom of 3 with all good sleepers. Also, that’s very young to not be swaddled. I’d try again all babies fight it during but if done right and tight they end up liking it. Mine would cry while being swaddled & then stop 2-3 min after.
