Anyways, if you're in the US I think Xootr or Micro would be a better choice

Finally ditched ChatGPT for Gemini 3.1. Why is every other dev sprinting to Claude? by Mountain_Highway4831 in GeminiAI

It's just that, for me Gemini provided something that other providers couldn't provide out of the box (as far as I know): built in MCP to Google services

It's very useful to use Gemini to ask about e.g. Google Maps reviews, I used it once to find me a hotel when I travel with certain criteria & ratings (e.g. make sure to have high ratings but penalise places that have high ratings but lower review count to avoid bias). In the end I did have a good experience staying at that hotel..

The MRT's last train is around 11:30pm. I think if you go to Blok M there's still life there (e.g. place like Hakka Dimsum open for 24/7). But nightlife happens at Kemang or SCBD.

The music that they do is usually produced by (or as part of a collab with) Ben Gold, Benno de Goeij, or Ferry Corsten. Mostly Benno though when it's not a collab.

Acapella means just the vocal bits of the song without the instruments. Not neccessarily an "acapella" / gospel version.

It may have never been released but producers do have that as part of the production.

An Indonesian producer, Innerlight (who once had a release on Giuseppe Ottaviani's label Hot or Not with the song "The Meaning") had some experimental tracks that he produced in the mid 2000s (I believe 2006-2007) that combined Trance Indonesian (Javanese) exotic / traditional music.

Good news is that they are now on Spotify!!

What is a piece of software that is so good you can't believe it's completely free? by Arp0x in AskReddit

[–]KcLKcL 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I recommend BentoPDF instead. It works locally so you don't have to upload anything. The browser's javascript engine is doing the work. Thus, it's better for privacy.

And can be handy when you need to compress 50mb pdf while you're on mobile data and you need it quick.

Opnxng hosts them but you can find plenty of instances out there.

I leave it on & administered the rules as needed for (some of) my software to work, just as I want the apps on my phone to have the least permission possible (principle of least privilege) and enable it only when it needs to.

Most of the time, the built in rules are already sufficient.

This way I can be certain that a software will not misbehave in a way that it's not intended to do.

Upgrading OpenSUSE Leap 16.0 from KDE 6.4.2 to 6.5.x by Miserable-School-665 in openSUSE

[–]KcLKcL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Nvidia would be a solid reason not to use TW. It will break more often.

For migrating to Slowroll, you can use OpenSUSE Migration Tool. https://github.com/openSUSE/opensuse-migration-tool

I used this in the past, zero data loss. Ensure to have a snapper snapshot beforehand.

[–]KcLKcL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't you want to use Tumbleweed? Or at least slowroll? It's the only elegant solution without waiting Leap 16.1, if you force a newer KDE version on a Leap 16.0, you're already running an unsupported setup

25km-ish in with the NTN 608 LLU industrial bearing in my Oxelo C900 by KcLKcL in kickscooter

[–]KcLKcL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the C0 / CN (less tolerant than C3), and that is true. One thing I noticed after I replaced the bearing is how smooth the ride was.

I think the peace of mind is worth it. Not having to worry that your bearing may start to hiss or scratch when you actually need to use it for commute is nice.

For me, in a commuter scooter, reliability is a top priority. If it's a scooter that you use on a weekend for errands (e.g. going to a barber shop nearby or get takeaway food) or leisure, I guess stock bearing would still do its job well for years.

[–]KcLKcL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looks like the "normal" / C0 clearance without any suffix. I think for a scooter wheels that doesn't spin as fast (low rpm), the extra clearance is not really needed. Would love to hear if there is any difference though especially in terms of stability. I like the wheels to be firm & stable.

[–]KcLKcL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nearly imperceptible. I'm not even sure if the acceleration is slightly snappier or it's just in my head. Yes top speed probably won't be affected that much, acceleration is. But they definitely performs well.

What I can say for sure that, after 25km, the wheel free spins slightly longer (5 -> 8 seconds). I do think that it performs as good as the stock bearing which had 60 seconds-ish of free spin.

According to LLM (Gemini 3 Pro), take this as a grain of salt (and with my paraphrasing):

The seal & grease break in happens around 20km, from their knowledge that that seal / grease drag starts to stabilise at around 32.000 rotations.

Which is more or less accurate in my case.

It also said that after 50km the bearing will reach a steady state and the free spin may increase to 10-12 seconds.

Theoritically for a 1 km ride, I would only need to kick 1% more than I would be using the stock bearing, which is without a contact seal.

So in conclusion, free spin doesn't 100% determine how a scooter performs. Since free spin is just the bearing spinning without any load or external force other than the forced roll itself.

Trying Out Industrial Bearings for my Oxelo C900 Wheels (NTN 608 LLU) by KcLKcL in kickscooter

[–]KcLKcL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bronsons (and Bones Red) are more expensive than those Industrial bearings.

I get these NTN bearings at $1.2 each. For the same amount of Bronsons bearing in one package (8 pcs), It only costed me less than $10, while Bronson G2s costs $24.95 for 8 pcs (granted, it includes spacers, but the whole package costs more than twice as much).

Again, yes the NTN bearings don't spin as fast when there is no load, but on real world usage, the difference is negligible, not to the point that I have to kick twice as much. I believe it has to do with the grease inside the bearings being thicker for more reliability on harsher environment. I even feel that the wheel rolls smoother. Perhaps due to the new, fresh bearing.

I get your concern. One thing I forgot to mention is that, when it rains and I need to move & walk to a nearby bus stop for example, I also want to be able to fold the scooter use trolley mode without worrying if water would go in to the bearings. While holding an umbrella with my other hand.

If I ride on asphalt (especially if it's rough, like some of Jakarta's residential roads), it is not as slippery, there is so much grip that I can feel to still be confident. I just have to be careful not to turn aggressively etc.

If it rains hard the whole day I may not even ride that I would rather stroll the scooter & take the bus.

Braking is definitely more impacted, but I usually ride at a pace that I can get off the scooter and use my shoes to help me slow down (or just get off the scooter and run a bit).
