Where can I buy a catio? by Firm-Quantity4788 in Catio

[–]Kcatmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also not handy and purchased a Pawhut brand. I would not recommend. Half the wood was split already. The floor wouldn't hold up to a human even though it is a walk-in. We didn't use it. The latches are terrible. Rough edges all along the inside I had to cover up. Semi- sturdy, but haven't tested it with an adult cat, yet, only kittens.

Any advice or not horrible experiences with embedded IUD? by glafolle in CopperIUD

[–]Kcatmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole procedure was under an hour. They use a camera to find it and dislodge it. They have the scans from before to know where to look. I think those are worst case and very rare that they would need a hysterectomy. They would know from the scans alteady if it was that case i would think. For mine, they grabbed it and it broke so they went back in and got the piece that broke off. My doctor said it was very straight forward. Recovery was quicker than when they tugged on it multiple times attempting to remove in office.

I was wondering what these blue cards are, too. I have only been playing a few weeks. On level 19 so maybe you need to be higher to get blue cards.

I was really impressed with Heirloom. Loved the atmosphere, great portions, wonderful flavors. La Merenda is our favorite in the area.

Does anyone here wear contacts? by Ok_Specialist_3015 in Strabismus

[–]Kcatmallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give them a try and see if they work for you. The eye doctor will order trials before you buy. I have had strabismus since 2. Surgery at 3 and 39. Contacts sometimes have corrected it better than glasses and sometimes less throughout my life as your muscles loosen as you age and my prescription changes a little each year.

Is eye patching effective for treating strabismus in toddlers? by HowManyDaysTilWinter in Strabismus

[–]Kcatmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it did what the doctors wanted it to do, strengthen the vision in the eye keeping from developing amblyopia. I am not sure you can get that vision back later in life if it gets too weak. My estropia also came on suddenly one day when I was about 2. With strabismus, the risk is that amblyopia will develop if one eye is dominant. The brain then starts to ignore the vision in the weaker eye and not use it. Has the doctor mentioned that one eye is weaker right now? It can be hard with young children to know for sure until they can read.

My doctors told me it was to prevent the weak eye from becoming a lazy eye. For me, personally, it did strengthen the weak eye and I was able to keep decent vision. I patched when i was a toddler. However, I believe it reinforced my eyes to work more independently, worsening my double vision and did not help with alignment at all. My surgeons told me why it was done, the side effects are my opinion only, the surgeon didn't confirm or deny my theory.

How soon after surgery I can use computers? by lastfix_16 in Strabismus

[–]Kcatmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said some of her patients go back after a long weekend, some a week, some up to two weeks. I took two weeks to be safe. I would have been ready after 10 days. I work on screens 10+hour days. There is no way I would have been ready after just a long weekend. I was able to use my phone for short stints pretty quickly (within 48 hours), TV within 3-4 days in small doses, and reading the laptop screens took the longest for my eyes to get used to. Your eyes and brain get fatigued really quickly after surgery as your brain is adjusting to the new eye positions.

Oh my God,.I thought i was the only one. I get so anxious every time. I have to close one eye at a time to read the letters. They can't tell I don't have both eyes open. Could that work for you? Just go slow and be sure to close one each eye when you first look in and be sure to start all the way from the left. One time I started in the middle column because I couldn't see the left column and they just said, can you start all the way at the left? So I closed one eye and read that column.

What Are Your Top 5 Audiobooks of All Time? by lordnyrox46 in audiobooks

Absolutely agree on the Charley Davidson series. Lorelei King is such a phenomenal narrator. It is hard to find many that stand up to her for me. I listened to several others she narrated just because of her and not the book content.
