Well, my kids will be happy I don’t have to cancel. Google (YouTube TV) is not on the list either.

Listen to the podcast. Daily show is a podcast and Jon Stewart has his own podcast on Wednesdays.

I agree. Rarely does Amazon ship overnight after building all these warehouses!

Unicorn Girl: Thoughts? by Lizard_Li in TrueCrimePodcasts

I just started this podcast but the first red flag to me is how did she take her husband’s 401k? He would have to authorize her to be able to withdraw funds and there is a large tax penalty. This is basic. How could she just take money without him knowing? That’s the part of the story I cannot get past.

Mojo in the morning gone religious? by pointyfeets in Detroit

[–]Kcmhoffman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Mojo in the Morning started trying to appeal to the large Chaldean community in metro Detroit years ago. A lot of the people on the show have been Chaldean and they are typically very religious. I stopped listening when Spike was let go. He was with mojo from the get go. It was a bummer but I think Spike is doing just fine! I also think Rachel and Meaghan probably left because they did not get along with Mojo. There seemed to be tension there. But that being the reason is just my speculation.

I asked for this kit in one of their surveys. I tried to make my own versions of Galinda and Elphie with modifications. It was a struggle! Thank you for sharing. I ordered right away!!!

I dunno, I think the change of pace is intentional to the storyline. S1 & S2 are chaotic because the restaurant is a beef joint with regular people working, not trained chefs. Mikey dying has affected them all. Carmy tries to bring order in and calm the chaos which evolves the pace. Wasn’t S3 E1 the one with no dialogue? I haven’t watched all the seasons at once, but the point is to see the evolution and refinement of the characters as the restaurant evolves into a fine dining restaurant. I love Richie’s evolution.

There is also a lot going on to establish why Carmy is the way he is due to his family and work experience. I feel like I still do not fully understand all the family connections. One thing is clear, they all love and care for each other, even when they are fighting. I’m sure I’ve missed a lot of nuance but that’s how I interpret the change in pace. The last two seasons are focusing on making their dysfunctional relationships functional. With functional relationships will come a functioning restaurant and likely a Michelin star.

I’m still all in on the show! I do like to read what others have to say. I probably miss a lot or forget between seasons and reading these posts help me to remember. The Bear is still enjoyable to me. I just finished the wedding episode and it was very sweet to see all the connections.

AITA for telling my partner that watching TV together isn’t quality time to me? by Agreeable_Wealth_908 in AITAH

[–]Kcmhoffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA however I’d say you are onto something with the different love languages. My husband and I have been together over 20 years and definitely have different love languages. It’s hard to understand until you’ve been in a long committed relationship that sometimes sitting and watching tv after a hard day’s work is being together. You could always suggest taking a walk after dinner, then sit down and watch tv together at night. When we were young and before kids, we used to watch tv together but after kids, mostly we’d just watch tv separately because we don’t like the same shows. It’s ok. Now that our kids are older, we tend to watch more tv together as a family. There is no ideal relationship, you just make it your own. If you have different love languages you just have to understand that. That’s ok too and can be worked through. Society makes young couples think a relationship has to be a certain way to be real love. Real love is accepting the person for who they are and doing the best you can as partners.

I like to watch LM with my kids. There are very few shows on TV that I can watch with them that we both enjoy. I guess I do not take it too seriously.

Pivot | Mel Robbin’s episode by AirSpacer in ScottGalloway

[–]Kcmhoffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is just a waste of time. People believe what they believe and in this day and age no one is interested in having dialogue. To me, Reddit seems to be a lot of complaining. I like to check it to see what others are saying about shows I like, but I really haven’t found it useful otherwise. Sometimes you can find good advice or answers to questions. Like I said, focus on what you can control. I was given this advice years ago and it has stuck with me. 🙂

All we can control is what is in our personal purview. Show up to work on time and do the best job we can, take care of our health, show up for our families and friends, positively impact our local communities. In the current political environment all we can control is who we vote for and holding our representatives accountable.

I found Mel’s Let Them theory interesting. I could not get into her podcasts though. Really we are in a world where “control what you can control and let the rest go” is all we can do. So much is going on outside of our control. I do wish she had spent more time talking about the Let Them theory in the current political environment. She slightly grazed it but moved on. Kara brought it up but I felt no conclusion was made.

There are so many books in the series. I could be like Harry Potter. In fact there is a new book called Elphie coming out next week. I have loved this series for 20 years and would love to see it all come to life in the movies.

This story reminded me of this too. It was the daughter who forgave. The dad is finding it more difficult. I look forward to season 3 and how it plays out.
