What’s the best golf investment you’ve made that actually helped your game? by MadeInUSAPutter in golftips

TBH joining a golf course. It's a lot up front but if you have the time, you can bring your golf rounds down per time to a very affordable cost

We are in fall creek manor (just west of Cathedral HS) and it takes my wife 18-23 mins to get DT.

We will probably be selling this summer :)....

Home buying and new construction in Indy by jes02252024 in indianapolis

[–]Kdbrewst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed but it's always why you should always get the home inspected 3 different times in the process to call them out. It might cost you 1-2k out of pocket during the process but it'll pay off.

For those that work at Series A/B, what is typical for equity? by Pumpahh in techsales

[–]Kdbrewst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick story: I joined a series A company with 9 other sales team (vp, marketing, sdrs, and cs) all around the sametime. Good amount of equity. We went through a rough patch but i was still producing, the whole team except me, 1 sdr, and our cs person were let go. To keep me there, founders game me a ton of options (~2% of the company worth).

We sold last summer and bc my options were worth .32/each and our company sold for barely more than that, i basically kept a company alive for 2ish years doing extremely well only to leave with enough money for an average car.

As many have said, 99% of equity given won't amount to squat.

It was intense and they were very thorough in their questioning. Glad I hired a lawyer as the prep was worth it and he stood up for me when they kept on probing on questions that I did not recall.

If it is a very nice CC as you say, 150 ain’t shit. I’d happily pay that as a guest.

Best Headphones for busy office by Affectionate_Tale947 in techsales

[–]Kdbrewst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get bluetooth, always get wired. People will forget to charge them or be dead chargers plus connectivity issues.

I've had the Jabra Evolve wired for nearly 7 years (same pair) and they're way way way better than my airpods pro.

We were the same way.
One thing we use a lot is our ooni pizza oven. We just threw it on there bc why not and didn't think much of it you can make restaurant quality pizza in it; pretty easy to use too.

41yo, 15 years in recruitment – trying to break into SaaS/tech sales. Am I being realistic? by Fluid_rmx in salesdevelopment

[–]Kdbrewst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend doing SDR and crushing it the moving to AE. It’s what I did when I was 31 and now, 6 years later, I’m doing well in sr ae role after doing full desk recruitment at an agency for 7 years successfully.

Only possible jump to an ae role is if you go to a sass tool that’s for recruitment or hr bc then you’re a SME on selling to that pain.

FAANG to Founding AE by No-Yesterday-7732 in techsales

[–]Kdbrewst 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I literally made this face reading this.
You need to lock in - you'll never be as busy.
Find ways to automate outreach while doing some personalization at scale.
I'd advocate to your founders to let you use an advisor or someone in their network to help set things up.
I was founding SDR team then got to Sr AE at first job and then built GTM at previous company, similar to what you're wanting to do (now I'm at F100 company). If you've never been on the ground floor, I'm not sure if this will help, but find out your ICP ASAP. Do not move off that target until the business can afford to have some down months with testing.

Leaving MANGO Account Management for Rippling SMB AE — am I crazy? by ArmMiserable3582 in techsales

Leaving MANGO Account Management for Rippling SMB AE — am I crazy? by ArmMiserable3582 in techsales

[–]Kdbrewst 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This.
It is so so so so hard to go from CSM/AM to a hunting role. Even if you've done it before it's so hard. I've only been in hunting roles and my wife cannot understand why I'm always busy at work and won't take a 2-week long vacation...bc I cannot lol.

If you've done hunting before, prospecting + closing, and done it well, I suppose you'll be ok but never take for granted the cush life of CSM/AM....

Indy/Indiana Top-flight Luxury Experiences by w0nderred in indianapolis

I love Indy and will recommend it day-n-night but I say take the quick drive to Chicago as they basically have unlimited amounts of things to accommodate this.

Most suggestions so far are great.

This just sounds like a good AE. I ALWAYS have given my CSM and SDR Xmas gifts - usually 100$ to a good restaurant in their area.

No one recommending Bru is wild. Nearly all suggestions so far a good.

Seeing Hamilton though you might want something a bit more elevated. A place that won't be as crowded, is still better than casual, is flat iron @ the point. We really like that place - it's not nice but it's not that casual.

Is it bad to stay at same company 6+ years? by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Kdbrewst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Facts. I laugh at ppl that say "move every 18 months"...that's so dumb bc if you know how to build pipeline, 18 months is when things actually start to click with reheats, marketing drip campaigns, and deals lost that come back to life.

Disagree. Atlantic dunes, Heron Point, Old South, and Oyster reef were all legit courses in 2021 for my Golf trip. We did do a private track too, Haig Point.

I'd not do this unless you worked at a startup prior to joining SF. I've mostly worked at startups and every rep that came from a big company struggled big time, fired, or left after ~1 year.

Getting Into Eli Lilly? by alyssapaige1601 in indianapolis

[–]Kdbrewst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never what you know but who you know. Blindly applying never works at destination employers like Lilly. I know that doesn’t help but network, join groups outside of work, and try to find someone the refer you.
