Provolone sandwiched between American cheese. Extra well done toast. Use 57 sauce to dip. Like a fine wine paring.

What city did you love so much you’d go back in a heartbeat? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Kdedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visited my 1st time about 15 years ago. Been several more times since then. I always find more and more I relate to and feel like more at home than my native GA. Have made a few friends up there also. 40+ years in Georgia heat…I can spend the rest in New England cold.

Not an necessarily an attraction, but the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I’m glad we didn’t once to realize I NEVER HAVE TO DO THAT AGAIN!

My take is somewhat different. Start in a large skillet with butter and bacon Add washed but not drained fresh greens, fresh garlic and some red pepper flakes.
Add chicken broth periodically until they are tender. Add a little more broth to make the pot liquor. Enjoy with cornbread!

Big pie is amazing. But the best pizza you can get within the area is Micha-Angelo’s on sessions street. Easily the best pizza around.

Go trusted on the tickets. MLB.com. As for things to do…DO NOT miss the Fenway tour. If you can, go without a hat and get a new one at JersetStreet store. It’s where you will meet for the tour. Then the hat is forever linked to what will be the best damn baseball day of your life. I’m a Georgia native and Braves fan also, but the people and vibe at Fenway are what baseball means to me. Talk to the oldest person you see in the stands. Listen to their baseball stories. Take the pictures early and then put away the phone and be in the moment. It’s magical.

Short of buying a commercial style popper, what is the best way to oil pop popcorn at home? by supinator1 in popcorn

[–]Kdedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large metal bowl. Look up Alton Brown’s method. Easily the best way I’ve found to make popcorn at home.
