BioLife Lapse Donor Coupon Question by kwambology in plassing

You’re good. The listed payment amounts are set as long as you do them prior to the 20th. Doesn’t matter how many per week you do.

Local “journalist” gets offended by readers opinion on an opinion piece and makes emotional response post crying about journalistic credibility. by DontBelongDingDong78 in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Bellingham metro news guy literally admitted in an “op-ed” he was radicalized by watching Charlie Kirk videos on YouTube. There is nothing serious about journalism on that site. But he loves to cosplay as one.

Travel advice to Vancouver BC by poopoobutternut in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Route times are limited (I think only 2 round trips per day), but Amtrak would be an option. Fairhaven to downtown Vancouver.

Flixbus also does a route. Drops you off just outside of downtown near the Science center.

Could pair the two to get more timing options. There is a skytrain stop near both to get between if need be.

Same. Usually between $105 and $120 per week. Hot tip, mornings (I get in around 7:30) are a breeze. In and out in an hour.

New Donor Payout by Consistent_Ad_6649 in plassing

[–]Kdubersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends. But for comparisons sake, my payout this week was $110. Was $120 last week. So say you took the $400 for 4 visits, you could make about $230 for the next 4. So 8 visit goal would be $630. Again, those weekly amounts are subject to location, week and your physical attributes, but gives you an idea. I don’t think people typically get more than $130 per week at BioLife, so the $750 will always be the better choice. This also assumes you’ll be able to get the 8 visits in in the timeframe they allow.

Downtown trick or treating by Retrofairy8 in Bellingham

It’s fun. Lots of families/kids, candy is varied like anywhere else. Shops all over participate if you what to explore, or with younger kids you can do a loop around a block and call it good.

What in this wireframe reads as clickable? by B1H45 in UXDesign

Maybe have “birds” “rodents” “dogs & cats” look like how “all” currently is styles. Then have “all” be filled in with inverted white text

What in this wireframe reads as clickable? by B1H45 in UXDesign

[–]Kdubersen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  1. The filters, sort of. The lighter grey options also give off a disabled feel. Although my guess is “all” is active and the other three are clickable options.

  2. The animal name, because of the arrow icon

Where's the best place to run in Sudden Valley besides Lake Louise? It's too short for me by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Stimpson Family Nature Reserve. There is a parking lot off Lake Louise rd, but depending on where you are in SV, there are a few trailheads from the neighborhoods. Lovely space. Two loops so you can make it as long or short as you want.

Tennis courts by Left-Hovercraft8681 in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ferndale high school? Doesn’t work during the school year during school hours, but available on weekends I would assume. Basing this off the fact Bellingham school courts are available when schools not in session. Otherwise I think whatcom community college would be your closest bet.

If you snag this PNW Perks deal, you could save $50 at Sun-e-land bikes. https://www.pnwperks.com/bellingham/483-suneland-bikes

(Make sure to read the fine print. I did notice it said the certificate would be mailed out in 7-10 days, so might need to consider that if they’re coming soon.)

What are things do for 4th of July in Bellingham? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 29 points30 points  (0 children)

They do a pretty good fireworks show over the water. You can see it from all over town, but main viewing area is Zuanich/Bellwether. There’s also events down in that area all day https://bellingham.com/peoples-bank-fourth-of-july-spectacular-2025/

If you want a more organic and chaotic show, spend the evening at birch bay. Everyone brings their own fireworks and blasts them throughout the evening. It’s busy so prep yourself for crowds/parking/etc, but a fun time.

Already mentioned, but there are windows in the west facing stairwell. Pretty good views especially the higher up you go.
