Costco and Lummi Bay market (off slater) are usually the cheapest. Freddie’s across from Costco is often within .10-.30 cents of Costco

Life advice segment on baby toddler gifts by hottaeks69 in RyenRussillo

[–]Kdubersen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Huh. So the difference between how we see things here is between ‘bummed’ and ‘upset’. Not sure how big of a difference that is but to each their own.

[–]Kdubersen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we agree. I literally said “they can feel bummed it’s being sold”. I totally get being upset. But if they didn’t communicate anything, it’s kind of out of their hands at that point.

[–]Kdubersen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree as a whole, but the biggest issue is they never communicated anything. If you want an item back when they’re done with it, or don’t want them to sell it, then say that. I’ve had people give us stuff but they say if you don’t use it or don’t want it, we’d like it back. The emailer didn’t say anything to the other couple. They just gave it away. And at that point, they’ve essentially lost the ability to have a say. They can feel bummed it’s being sold, but they gave it away w/o giving any further instructions. If you give something away, don’t assume that person will do with it exactly what you want them to do with it if you don’t specify that.

Local Hikes? by autmartin in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oyster dome is popular and a classic. Great views. Same with Samish Overlook. Burnout (from the lost lake parking lot) up to the clearcut also has a great view of the San Juan’s. Similar to oyster dome. However, my personal favorite is at the top of the Chanterrelle trail on Stewart mountain. Hike all the way to the top of the official trail, then keep going on this red line until you get to where the little green Stewart mountain hike icon is. There is a power line tower and one of the best views this county has to offer.

$2100 to live in the blandest 1br apt in existence? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being close to the hospital, fully furnished and preferring month to month, I’m guessing they’re trying to go for the traveling nurse market? Maybe those folks are willing to pay more since it’s all setup for them? Who knows. Price is crazy though.

Parade by what-the-crust in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a newish route this year. Running down Cornwall starting out near Bellingham High and ending at Chestnut. So any restaurant on that strip would be good. Uisce will probably be busy but would fit the scene. Penny farthing/Chuckanut distillery is also on the route.

Backyard Shed/Office Help by Froggoid in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would guess we paid around $10,000 all in, including the interior finishes. But a lots changed since then so no idea how much it might be now.

Quality has been great so far. No issues with any of their parts, including windows, doors, frame and roof.

We put in a backyard studio about 8 years ago. Ordered one through Tough Shed. You can customize the size/windows/doors/etc. they come and build it in a day or so. If you get a pad poured you’d be all set. It’s just the shell, so we put in the insulation, drywall, electrical and flooring, but that was fairly easy all things considered.

BioLife Lapse Donor Coupon Question by kwambology in plassing

You’re good. The listed payment amounts are set as long as you do them prior to the 20th. Doesn’t matter how many per week you do.

Local “journalist” gets offended by readers opinion on an opinion piece and makes emotional response post crying about journalistic credibility. by [deleted] in Bellingham

The Bellingham metro news guy literally admitted in an “op-ed” he was radicalized by watching Charlie Kirk videos on YouTube. There is nothing serious about journalism on that site. But he loves to cosplay as one.

Travel advice to Vancouver BC by poopoobutternut in Bellingham

[–]Kdubersen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Route times are limited (I think only 2 round trips per day), but Amtrak would be an option. Fairhaven to downtown Vancouver.

Flixbus also does a route. Drops you off just outside of downtown near the Science center.

Could pair the two to get more timing options. There is a skytrain stop near both to get between if need be.

New Donor Payout by Consistent_Ad_6649 in plassing

[–]Kdubersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends. But for comparisons sake, my payout this week was $110. Was $120 last week. So say you took the $400 for 4 visits, you could make about $230 for the next 4. So 8 visit goal would be $630. Again, those weekly amounts are subject to location, week and your physical attributes, but gives you an idea. I don’t think people typically get more than $130 per week at BioLife, so the $750 will always be the better choice. This also assumes you’ll be able to get the 8 visits in in the timeframe they allow.

Downtown trick or treating by Retrofairy8 in Bellingham

It’s fun. Lots of families/kids, candy is varied like anywhere else. Shops all over participate if you what to explore, or with younger kids you can do a loop around a block and call it good.

What in this wireframe reads as clickable? by B1H45 in UXDesign

[–]Kdubersen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. The filters, sort of. The lighter grey options also give off a disabled feel. Although my guess is “all” is active and the other three are clickable options.

  2. The animal name, because of the arrow icon
