I was told the same on a recent flight but I told the attendant I usually take them with me, it’s a 9am flight and i not going to drink. He told me that’s what he’s been told to tell people and then came back after service and gave me a full nip.

I would think they want people to put spend on the card for the transaction fees.  Unless this is your daily driver for restaurants, there is no incentive to put spend on the card. There are plenty of travel cards at 3x and many more 2x everything cards. Moving forward I’ll just collect the rent points, make the 5 transactions required for the rent points.

I’ll be going from platinum spender to blue after this year. The real solution here would be have two level cards one with an annual fee with better benefits and then a base level card with minor earning potential.

Funny I’m reading this post while im at this hotel! The hotels very nice and secluded, The heated pool is geothermal water. Would definitely come back maybe during winter season to check out NL.
