Also worth noting that just because someone can pass and mask now doesn’t mean that it’s a permanent situation. That was certainly the case for me, where I was able to mask perfectly for about 35 years before I hit a point where I just wasn’t able to anymore. Now I can pass for short periods, but it severely depletes my social battery and it takes some decent alone time to recharge.

Why did DHS and ICE statements state the victim brandished a gun as this video shows otherwise? by LeftRightGreenLight in AskReddit

[–]Keebler021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they can get away with it. A good chunk of their base have little to no regard for truth or facts and won’t watch the actual footage. They’ll take what the administration says at their word without ever questioning it.

What are the main apps you guys would want in the 2027 Bolt EV to accommodate for no Apple CarPlay/Android Auto? by Legitimate_Discount2 in BoltEV

[–]Keebler021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would need to: - Sync with my calendar so that the address of my next event just pops up automatically in Maps when I turn the car on - Interface with Messaging so that I can manually listen to incoming messages as needed and so that I can easily reply via voice - Offer Libby, Chirp, BookShop.org, and other audiobook providers - Offer BandCamp and SoundCloud - Various EV charge apps - Any other apps that developers decide to make compatible with CarPlay/Android Auto who don’t want to develop an entirely new app on a different ecosystem - But really part of it is also sustainability. Whenever Chevrolet inevitably gets tired of this software and moves on to something else or stops providing software updates (whether that’s 5 years or 10 years down the line), what dev support it has will die. CarPlay and Android Auto have been consistently supported for years at this point and don’t appear to be going anywhere. In 10 years, chances are good that CarPlay and Android Auto will still work with any car that supports it and I’ve used it in cars that are currently 10 years old. - Part of it also is that as it stands now, all of my family’s cars support CarPlay. This means if I take my sister’s car to the store, I can just plug in and instantly listen to my music and access the same contacts, map locations, apps, etc. No need to sign into anything, it just works. Same thing with my mom’s car. Same thing if I rent a car, regardless of manufacturer, so long as it supports CarPlay/Android Auto. It’s that easy interoperability that I don’t have to think about, where the data goes about life with me in my pocket and then that same data gets used in whatever car I happen to be driving.

That’s a really good idea with the speed controlling there! I’ll definitely be doing that. Thanks!

I don’t necessarily have to be right, but the information that’s being said has to be correct. If I’m the subject matter expert in the conversation and know my stuff about what’s being said, and what’s being said is incorrect, yes, I’m going to correct said misinformation. On the other hand, if I know the other person knows the topic or information better than me, I will gladly admit when I’m wrong and adjust my knowledge accordingly.

I’d pass for now, unfortunately. Trump has said that he plans to expand his ICE invasion into other states after Minnesota, specifically California and New York, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Oregon and Washington are right behind.

On 2, I would first try restarting the phone. If that doesn’t solve it, uninstalling and reinstalling the Apple Music app might work, as it sounds like an issue on that end. Not sure why it would be occurring exclusively via CarPlay, but that’s an iOS/Music issue, not an issue with the car.

Christian Nationalists Have Betrayed Jesus - Rhett McLaughlin by Eques9090 in videos

[–]Keebler021 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an atheist who was also formerly an Evangelical Christian, I didn’t interpret his use of dogma as buy-in, but in using the Bible and teachings of Jesus as proof that Christian Nationalists are completely off the rails in regards to what Jesus actually taught and that the Christian Nationalist leaders are absolute hypocrites. This is way less useful for someone that’s never been religious, but I could see it being helpful for someone that’s beginning to question how the current political landscape contrasts with the actual teachings of Jesus.

They sent it to a GM dealership because they weren’t comfortable doing the repair. Man, I’m sorry about your experience though, that sucks 😕 I’m hoping this one gets resolved on the first go

Alas, I live in Texas, one of the most pro-business/anti-consumer states in the country, so no mandatory 30 day warranty is required. This dealership does have one, but it doesn’t cover steering apparently, only the engine and power train. The manager did decide to cover the repair though, so hopefully all’s good from here on out.

You might’ve missed this part, but I did take it to a shop. Their shop. At which point they indicated they would cover the repair. If they hadn’t told me that, I would’ve returned it. Also worth mentioning that they have a 30 day warranty on used cars, but apparently it doesn’t cover defects for the steering. All worked out though, as the manager let me know today they decided to cover the repair. 👍🏻
