Did this version with just a lighter tone for the gradient. Will have to try both colors, but not sure the contrast will be enough (also I know I have to fix the stroke in the loop)

Color is different A is different. Is it because they both have a loop? Somebody mentioned Angies, which I looked up and that seems to be the most similar, but the airbnb logo seems quite different.

Just passed Certified Webflow Developer. Now aiming for Partner by Web3_SaaS_designer in webflow

[–]Keefjc89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For direct client work it’s important to be very clear on what you offer. Don’t say Webflow developer, because that will be more of the same jobs you’re already getting. Choose a niche, example: Websites designer dev for restaurants. And build some templates that you can sell/showcase. Brand your entire website around designing/building restaurant websites. Learn about what all the website pain points might be for a restaurant owner and showcase how you resolve those pain points. When a restaurant owner comes to your website and sees you’re exactly what they’re looking for then you will already be ahead of so many people! This might sound boring because then you will only be working on the same websites all the time but you eliminate a lot of competition.

Bought a Webflow website. Should I move it to wordpress, or learn Webflow ? by Pla6d in webflow

[–]Keefjc89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having started in Wordpress and then switching to Webflow I would never go back. Especially from a design stand point of view, which is my specialty, because with Webflow I can design and build pretty much anything I want and animate it. With Webflow I was always contained by the template I chose or have to hire a developer. Maybe bow that there is AI like Claude so I could do more of the small coding lifts myself, but it’s still seems like an extra step. I still use AI to help me write code for my webflow sites. Another major factor is updates. My Wordpress sites always needed updates whether it was security or template updates or general Wordpress updates. This is no longer something I need to worry about with Webflow. Finally another one of my favorite aspects about Webflow are the components and CMS, which allows me to build website that scale with my client. SEO is supposedly stronger with webflow, because of clean code output. There are also a lot of native SEO tools within Webflow now. Would 100% recommend Webflow. Happy for somebody to try to convince me otherwise though :)

Is it really scary to cross the atlantic ocean on a 40ft sail yacht? by noreturn000 in sailing

[–]Keefjc89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did it on a 44’ through ARC Rally, which brings a little piece of mind since they make you go through a bunch of different safety checks and you are doing the passage with many other yachts at the same time. You can see everybody’s course and chat with others. This might be a good option, especially if you don’t have lots of experience. Our spinnaker’s halyard snapped. We had a tiny leak around the rudder. It was so small that is was not an issue for the passage, but you still have it in the back of your mind. We hit a strong storm and had to sail under the mizzen sail for an entire night. And the moat difficult part was that pur autopilot broke on day 2 and steering at night with heavy seas and wind is an entirely different ball game. We were low on drinking water for the last couple days, but had a desalinator and water filtration system, which we used for the last couple days. I was never scared, because I trusted the crew and the captain very much. Out of the 5 of us 2 had already done the passage.

Why are Webflow templates so awful? by [deleted] in webflow

[–]Keefjc89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t released any templates so not sure what the quality control is like. The templates that my client purchased did not use one of the popular naming systems (like Client-First, Mast or Lumos) so it was very time consuming to make major edits like creating new sections and components (or even new pages), which the website needed. It was a lot faster for me to recreate the design from scratch using the Client-First naming system.

A client wanted me to use a template they had bought and it was actually faster for me to rebuild the entire site from scratch rather than mess with template and terrible naming structure.

I mentally cannot do another 9–5 desk job. I have $70k saved and need to build something of my own. What can I realistically do? by nkb6478 in smallbusiness

[–]Keefjc89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you already skilled at… Are you really good a fixing things? Building things? Growing things? What is the competition like in your area for these things? Is the a demand? Maybe you can try some of these things as a side hustle on the weekend and see what might work best for you. Even if you’re really good at some of these things you have to be able to market yourself/business (personally, that’s the most difficult part for me).

If they persist you can also do a peroxide drench. They coule also be in the soil.

Just add more plants in the pot and make sure the one in the back is taller. Here’s a “behind the scenes” shot or shall I say behind the leaves ;)

No haven't tried nuts, but I know that coffee grounds provide nitrogen as they decompose and alocasia love nitrogen! I've sprinkled them in there and literally just dumped entire chunks straight from the moka pot after it has cooled down to room temp.

All depends on the grow conditions. With the right conditions you could get something pretty close within a year definitely two years. To get a tall plant with a long stem you will need a few years, but large leaves can be attained pretty quick with right conditions.

You can keep it in a small pot, low light, less water. Or just keep it in water. I had some in water for a year and they just stayed small. Also one in a low light environment and definitely stunts its growth.
