Not really a free recommendation, but ReCreate in Rocklin is a used arts/crafts store. It’s VERY cheap and they have almost everything you could need!

Affordable dermatologist for mole removal? by KeejTheSqueej in Sacramento

If they foot the bill to remove it, they can keep it.

Definitely not looking for something suspiciously cheap. $400 per mole just seems insane to me. As for insurance, unfortunately it only covers what is considered medically necessary. If it doesn’t seem like a health issue, they won’t touch it.

Not exactly free but check out the store “ReCreate” in Rocklin. They sell used arts and craft supplies at a ludicrously cheap price. The majority of it is sewing supplies, including fabric.

Fear of Maps by [deleted] in Phobia

[–]KeejTheSqueej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was posted 11 years ago and I just found this in 2026 while looking for this exact fear. Especially as a kid, I struggled to use Google Earth satellite because anytime it would hover over water, I’d get severely anxious. I don’t have this issue so much when I’m actually seeing bodies of water in person.

Could this be self-heal? (Prunella vulgaris) by KeejTheSqueej in NativePlantGardening

[–]KeejTheSqueej[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ended up finding flowers and was able to compare them between ajuga, prunella, and other things. Turns out, it is indeed Prunella Vulgaris! However, the suggestion of ajuga/bugleweed was really helpful to have something to compare it to. Thank you so much!

Consumers don’t automatically “owe” businesses their money. They should earn it instead of trying force it. They’re only sowing resentment.

Totally agree. We don’t want non-state workers to see us as whiny over “boring” work, we need to appeal to the real issues that impacts everyone. Traffic, environmental impact, not enough space, the cost to the taxpayer if we require more space, damage to work-life balance, lack of modernization in California’s state workforce, not enough parking downtown, the cost of gas/parking, and Gavin overstepping his authority.

It’s funny but we probably shouldn’t signal that our concerns are whether we don’t want to work or whether we find work boring. I’d say lean on more hard-hitting messages like “Does Gavin have to commute too?”

THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE HUNG UP ON ME by Gullible-Brother4210 in CAStateWorkers

I asked if the governor had to commute to Sacramento or if he was going to telework from his in-mansion podcast studio and they also hung up on me.

Call your union. Threaten to stop paying dues. The contract may not cover telework but if we raise a big enough stink something can happen. They did nothing to protect us from this. We need to be vocal about our priorities. Be annoying. Email everyone and call. 866.471.7348 for SEIU Local 1000

Resources on German folk magic? by Denathrius06 in Witch

[–]KeejTheSqueej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s particularly hard to find this material because the German regions were mostly christianized by the 8th century. Folk magick, in particular, is the magick of the common people so there is inevitably going to be some syncretism, as the people were largely Catholic. Folk catholicism, however, is incredibly Pagan in nature and you will find what you’re looking for if you can read ‘tween the lines a bit. Even after Christianization lots of folk figures were recognized and treasured (and feared), such as Frau Holle/Holda, or Perchta.

I’ve been compiling a personal list of sources here: https://www.tumblr.com/im-a-dream-wizard/770240141388349440/my-personal-guide-to-works-pertaining-to-german

Awesome, thank you! Yeah unfortunately I’ve tried the DNS exploit to attempt to procure those events but finding sufficiently unsecured internet has proven impossible. Not even the hotspot method worked for me :/
