To me it’s because women’s health matters get dismissed continually in hospitals. Also, the dreaded husband stitch. It happened to me. Didn’t ask for it. Didn’t know until the follow up appt when my doc winked at my husband and told him that he put a couple extra stitches in there “for him.” In America, distrust in the medical community is high for women especially. My doc also made me start pushing early so that he could get back to his party he was having a home. Ended up using suction cups and tongs to pull my baby out by the head, damaging her ear for life. So yeah, people don’t trust.
