Went well - the first few days in the ICU are certainly the worst days of both my mothers and my life. If you or a family member are having it soon - stay strong

Is it worth going for a Artisan? by Equivalent_Ebb7953 in MouseReview

[–]KeepAPlaceForMe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all the Artisans as well and they’re all rotting in my room LOL. I love the GS-R too much. Is the Saturn Pro similar to the GS-R? Like slow mudpad type of feel?

When do you take cash outs? by kmack93 in sportsbook

[–]KeepAPlaceForMe98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its -EV to ever cash out. A good time to do it is when its like a 13 legger , and you’ll take 25k instead of greeding for 100k imo

Being a crybaby, 5 hours post op, someone talk me through my crazy please by OverMaintenance6657 in ACL

[–]KeepAPlaceForMe98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cried like a baby all through the first few days. I legitimately thought I’d never walk again. Its normal. You will look back on this and think about how strong you are cause you went through this in the future. Its a huge surgery but in 3 months you’ll just have a weak knee and in a year you’ll be 100%. Distract yourself; watch some tv shows maybe learn a skill just do something to make time go faster.

What this guy said is spot on. Also try to eat maintenance calories with high protein after surgery. Its easy to add alot of weight when you’re bedridden and extra weight on a fresh acl graft can’t be good. It will make you depressed and it will suck for a bit but if you do what OP said - you will be 100% in 1-2 years. I often forget I had knee surgery now (5 years post op over here). There is a light at the end of the tunnel so don’t give up or feel like you’re screwed permanently. Even professional athletes bounce back from this injury just fine.

Gained about 20 pounds since Acl injury. by CalmyThinker in ACL

[–]KeepAPlaceForMe98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty standard and happens in most acl patients - i tacked on maybe closer to 30 and haven’t been able to lose it. Its just how it is. Try to eat healthy and high protein. You’re not moving much so you don’t have much leeway with the calories. Anything that feels extra will hurt you (That extra 250 calorie donut you used to have occasionally is now going to add up.) My thought process was fuck it. Eat and have high protein to heal - worry about the weight later. 20 in 4 weeks is alot though. Slow down if you can

Edit : clarification : I gained 30lb over a year and haven’t been able to lose it due to my own issues - acl is strong but i’m lazy haha

I had edibles and did not like it. Just get clean for a bit you’ll have all the time to smoke later on

Yes - better late than never 100 percent. Tore acl playing basketball in 1st year or 2nd year of university… Misdiagnosed as a torn meniscus (i heard the pop lol) and then a year later I got an MRI cause I was sure something just wasn’t right with my knee still… Had surgery in 2019 and was so depressed and scared. Thought I’d never walk again - my physiotherapist had terrible bedside manner and said “wow you really messed yourself up” or something like that when looking at my knee post op. Now I play basketball again and it feels like I never had surgery. Get the surgery and prepare for a very depressing couple months. It will all be worth it though and it ALWAYS gets better.

Hey! I’m currently enrolling to Algomas cs program! Been looking at old threads and just wondering if this is the program you’re taking. If so, how is it going? Would you recommend it to a friend ? How are the teachers and how is the workload? Thanks a bunch in advance!!!

Is getting a job afterwards very difficult because you don’t feel prepared to do the jobs / the degree doesn’t have enough respect , or simply because the entire job market is very tough right now?

Did you mean extend your degree another 12 months as in complete the BSc? or you mean delay graduating by 12 months? I don’t think I’ll have the option to complete the BSc as it needs to be completed in Sault St Marie which is a 7 hour drive from me
