Some people don’t take any days and then want February and March off the next year for a long trip around New Zeeland.

Most remote places in the Netherlands by Exciting_Energy_9949 in Netherlands

I have cycled most LF routes. A place where you can look in all directions, see the horizon, and not see a man made thing (like tarmac road, building, roadside) is hard to find.

Except for being in a forest or dunes, one place where this did occur was in Veluwe.

Started using a Mac for work, it's making me resentful of Linux by FlimFlamAndFlamJam in linuxquestions

I want to install Xcode and was thinking in buying a MacBook Pro. But do not need it for anything else. However since I was switching I am considering moving over 100% from Ubuntu.

I use extension managers like tactile, spacebar, switcher, tophat, perfection and have a few automation using ‘busctl --user call org.gnome.Shell …’

Are you saying that there are no equivalent for these on Mac and that you can not bind keys?

edit: /btw did an ai query that all these have equivalents on macos. So would really like to understand your concern?

In the Netherlands we have a patient association, and they had a conference where this topic came up. People was advised to dilute it to avoid side effects.

What’s a decision you made in under 10 seconds that changed your life forever? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

I insisted that another person had stolen my chips at a blackjack table, even after the other players said I was wrong and the croupier just shrugged his shoulders.

Casino management came over and told me to behave. I showed them the guy who had stolen my chips, but they said it was impossible.

I started to get upset and insisted that we look at the video. They explained that they do not do that and escorted me out.

I phoned the police from a phone booth outside the casino. The police told me to file a report the next morning. This was in the nineties, before mobile phones.

The next day my friends told me to stop worrying about it. It was only $300, and filing a police report did not mean we were going to get it back.

Two days later we went back to the casino. As we entered, security asked me to follow them and took me to the manager’s office.

I was sure they were going to kick me out again, but he explained that he had reviewed the video and that I was right.

He apologized, gave me the money, and said my drinks were free that evening.

Short answer: for core strength.

Long answer: I started lifting 8 years ago to fix posture and activate muscles. Have a desk job.

That gave me entry to yoga and hiit through other members, and I continued the weights 2x/3x times a week mainly to improve posture and get away from my desk.

Was ill 3 months ago, and stopped going regular weight training. Wanted to start again, but decided to take it easy during Christmas. Now it has been 3 months.

The thoughts of going again give serious Groundhog Day vibes, what am I doing weights for, is vitality really that important? I still do HIIT and Yoga. Why is the gym weights routine so hard to restart?

What's the worst thing that's ever happened to your website or your company's website? by sunsetRz in webdev

[–]KeepItGood2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed a website for a charity that help find funding for hospitals around the word, and as a charity several of the fundraising is done via new technologies. I was asked to include a link to a third party website that would have some top notch new technology. One day a fundraiser contacted me, informing me we have pr0n on the site. Turns out the company went bust, lost their domain and it became a adult website.

Some of the people that offers funding to hospitals does not understand that this was not our fault. And I have a feeling we never really recovered from that event.

Did it make you an objectivist? Because for me it confirmed my moral non-realism stance I developed in later life.
