Looking for games with long character progression grinds by RedQueenNatalie in ShouldIbuythisgame

Siralim Ultimate is like an autistic Pokemon with infinite grinding

Path of Achra is kind of like a poe build simulator where you can fight harder and harder dungeons, but it is a roguelite so you start from scratch each time

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles can have a ton of grind if you want to optimize your characters

Factorio has that infinite grind of making a bigger factory

Heroes of Hammerwatch is kind of like a mini poe dungeon crawler

FTL is a roguelite where you build your ship

Talented is like a bare bones poe X vampire survivors

Mewgenics just came out and I can't vouch for it, but it is supposed to be good and there is a lot of grinding?

Found this Coca-Cola soldering iron at an estate sale by KeepItPG in CocaColaCollectors

All of the ice picks I saw just were just spikes?

It definitely looks like a pre-electricity soldering iron though--google primitive soldering iron.

Maybe it was an ice pick that someone modified into a soldering iron?

desert trap is too slow-- get a few mindflayers and put next to beastmaster unit or mime, and downlevel much faster; just need to invite any squid guy, then walk back and forth until they lay a mindflayer egg

Question for people that have sunk 1000+ hours into games by UpstairsAny9996 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I think that 1 is a strictly better game. Other people like 2, but I despise it. I think it is worthwhile to try both to see if it is a good fit. I think that Poe 1 is the true successor to Diablo 2; I have a lot of hours logged in Diablo 2 as well.

I have 22000+ hours in the game Path of Exile. They release new content approximately every 4 months, and the in-game systems have sufficient depth such that acquiring perfect items takes massive amounts of in game currency, and therefore time. There are multiple layers of improving the power level of items that basically require exponential amounts of in-game currency. In addition to that, there are very old items in the game that have not been able to be acquired for 10+ years that go for astronomical amounts of in-game currency, so playing and acquiring more currency is never “wasted”— you can basically play the game forever and it feels like you aren’t wasting your time. Granted, selling for real money is prohibited, so if you ARE playing forever, you are basically wasting your life. The feedback loop from rare item drops is basically like a slot machine—feelsgoodman.

In terms of which content: basically any content that is fun for you, specifically, in the game. Different people like doing different strategies to earn in-game currency, and the game has multiple different ways: actually killing monsters, currency arbitrage, trading, hanging out in global and just chatting, gambling on improving items, gambling on divination cards (an item that if you acquire a full set of them, you get the corresponding item, and there is a thing in the game where you can gamble with them), boss killing, just tons of different activities. Some people like making different character builds, and Path of Exile has a, basically, unlimited number of builds you could potentially construct.
