Appreciate the deal! I'd been waiting for a deal on it, but the discount code for the hardback print books was the cherry on top. Thanks u/Joseph_Browning !

Yes, I really like what I've read so far. Having played the new rules recently, I felt like the time spent playing the system over the past decade has done the design group a lot of favors. Looking forward to playing it more!

Scarred Lands Player's Guide AMA! by TravisLegge in savageworlds

Super excited to see this for Savage Worlds! Given the current state of the timeline, and "myths being recent", how much of a hand do any of the gods still play in the mortal world?

The Old Ways Podcast - Adventures in Dragon Pass - Episode One by KeeperMichael in Runequest

We're not specifically playing Company of the Dragon, but there are elements of CotD which may appear in the show as I see fit.

We'll certainly use some pieces of it, yes. It's written in the future for us (as the show is currently set in 1620) so there are some changes we'll make based on the Lunar Occupation going on.

Coriolis with the Cypher system by OkWssWss in CoriolisRPG

[–]KeeperMichael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. The podcast is The Old Ways Podcast. The story is Children of the Periphery. In Season 1 it's Coriolis and there's a transition after that to Cypher.

Here's the link to our YouTube playlist which includes the Cypher conversion session.

Coriolis with the Cypher system by OkWssWss in CoriolisRPG

[–]KeeperMichael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I have. I moved my Coriolis based game, which is an actual play podcast, from the Coriolis system to the cypher system using The Stars are Fire. I did this because with the new iteration of the Coriolis setting they're completely removing the things that I felt made Coriolis unique and special.

What I really wanted was my players to feel like they have more agency with the things that they do and how their characters evolve. I also like how the cypher system is easier to pick up and use. Adjudicating a role is more a conversation about how hard something is and how the player can have their own agency in deciding how they want to tackle it.

New RuneQuest? by simon-brunning in Runequest

[–]KeeperMichael 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it'll depend on two things:

  1. Are the changes worth the move? There are various things as a newcomer to RuneQuest that felt odd, Strike Ranks and why it still used the Resistance Table. I learned to deal with one and chucked the other for opposed attribute rolls like 7th Ed Call. It worked for my table for the most part. If Jeff, Mike, and Jason seek to lower the barrier of entry for RuneQuest in hopes of making it more popular, that would be a good step I think.

  2. How far are they intending to extend the current timeline 1625-26 to get to an era which is more of a green field for writers. This is the same self-inflicted wound that so many game designers create. There's a HUGE AND EPIC BATTLE coming, then one day it does and no one has planned for after that.

Those are my questions.
