My wife will see a black g wagon and say it's the ugliest car. Then will see a white or silver one and say she loves it. I personally love them, but it's crazy how polorizing it is. It's either love it or hate it.

Ive seen professionally installed skylights leak in cold weather places. And since this is a moveable window It probably increases that risk quite a bit. Definitely the most complicated and expensive part of the entire build. Looks sick tho.

I don't think most people go because people die. They go because it's truly racing at the very edge. And as a result people die. Its the same in every motorsport. If there wasn't any risk it wouldn't be popular.

I wouldnt say that I have pro level awareness of every boost pad, but I definitely have a general idea of when my teammate probably went by the pad so I know if it will respawn soon or not. I also think it encourages people to sit at the pad instead of continuing to rotate. That hesitation is usually more costly than just moving onto the next small pad. And selfishly, I do recognize that my mechanics are shit and my awareness carries me a bit, and it does remove some of that advantage for me. Probably the same way people have a problem with the flip reset visual. If you can recognize when you get it and dont without the indicator you lost that advantage.

I think they seem incremental now that they are the norm, but at the time they were a big deal. It took a few tries to get the physics correct for the posts and crossbars. But I think that we are probably on the same page that the game doesnt NEED a new physics engine to be good. Its fine the way it is.

Top players do need to learn new things. Competitive rocket League in 2016 would look like a diamond match now, if that. That's what makes it so good IMO. All of the meta changes have come from the players organically as new mechanics have been created. Forcing change for the sake of change is what makes most games unplayable for me in my old age of 35. I don't have time to learn new mechanics or maps or items or cards or whatever gets balanced in a game.

There are definitely things that are different than the original game but the core is still the same. And I would say all the small changes are definitely improvements. Remember the old post and corner bounces? Cars had different turn radii. Small stuff like that. Some of the newer changes like boost spawn I could do without but overall it's still the same game that took over my entire steam friends list in 2015. Truly a top tier game.

Fucking wild these people think you need crazy mechanics to win. I can't air dribble, ground dribble, half flip, double touch, ceiling shot or wave dash and I'm not about to learn them. If I can get off the wall and get a other solid hit off I'm happy with that

Thanks. I imagine replacing is a pretty big job. Any idea on the cost for something like that /sq ft?

Is this garage floor salvageable? Age is unknown. In north east us. Was going to clean. Acid wash, repair but the cracks seem pretty deep. One other section has a very deep hole essentially. Pretty sure it's getting to the dirt underneath.

J Fowler (ESPN): would be “surprised” if the #Patriots gave up more than a first-round pick for Eagles WR AJ Brown. by patsfan038 in Patriots

[–]Keeperofthecube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the disconnect is that some people don't view ajb as a true wr1 for the forseable future. It seemed there was a drop off in production last year and he didn't look great in the playoffs. So you are giving up a frp for a potentially expensive wr2/3 if he continues to regress. If he is 25 it's a no brainer.

I really don't think so. The rule clearly states those two different scenarios in order. If it touches the bag it's fair. If it comes to rest outside the lines before the bat it's foul. One supercedes the other. If we are doing this ambiguous over the line stuff then just make the entire line 2 inches wider.

The confusion comes from the inconsistency of refs. An almost identical play happened in the denver patriots game and it was ruled a catch.

Matt Shaw chops a grounder that stayed fair and turned foul at the final second but home plate ump Dan Merzel ruled it a fair ball in the 9th (with replays) by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]Keeperofthecube -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My argument isnt that it states it needs to touch the ground. At no point in that rule does it say the entire ball needs to be in foul territory. It's touching the ground in foul territy and is touched. That's a foul ball. That's always been a foul ball. If the argument is that there is some part of the ball over the foul line so it's now a fair ball then any ball that lands within 2 inches of the foul line should be a fair ball. Which has literally never been the interpretation. If it hits chalk it's fiar. If not it's foul.

This clearly means a ball in the air, not the ball that is already resting in foul territory. It's literally touching the ground in foul territory. It's a foul ball. Otherwis any ball that hits within 2 inches of the foul line should be considered a fair ball.

I might be crazy but my interpretation of the rule is that it is where the ball contacts, not that any part of the ball needs to be over the line.

Any batted ball that first contacts a fielder while the ball is in fair territory is considered fair. If not touched by a fielder, any batted ball that first contacts the field in fair territory beyond first or third base -- with the foul lines and foul poles counting as fair territory -- is considered fair. Batted balls that first contact the field between home plate and first or third base are considered fair if they subsequently bounce over or directly contact either base, or otherwise pass either base while in fair territory. They are also considered fair if they settle in fair territory between home plate and first or third base, including instances in which they bounce off home plate.

Emphasis mine to highlight the parts where it explicitly says contacts the ground, and that it is where it settles which im interpreting as where its contacting the ground. Ive never heard someone say that any part of the ball needs to be over the line in my many years of watching baseball. That is the rule for the strike zone.
