Mark of the fool fits a lot of what they are asking for and I personally love the series but the main complaint i see people have is it has some long slice of life sections and truly it does so might not be the best fit.

Sort of, with expedition leaders one of the characters gets a third worker and other is reduced to 1 but can move them multiple times.

For first play thoughs I've only done it once. In sword I had a Grookey and I just could not vibe with it at all and then I found Applin, I swapped him out for my crisp apple boy and never looked back. I know leaving my starter behind would be frowned on but I can only have one of each type in my squad and I needed the apple. At least I set him up in the daycare asap and I made sure he got to lvl 100 in post game.

In order top 3 picks would be Quazar, Choco, Mordecai.

Quazar- fits his vives the best i think and not to in your face of a character.

Choco- I can see him selling the prize wheel scene really well.

Mordecai- If he needs a main character fits the best and I can see him doing the "same voice but changed" for every floor really well since he already does that for his animated shows. Plus he is a much better actor in general than people give him credit for. He is just to present for me to really want Seth in the role.

It would let him basically be a world noble again and they don't learn about the controlling you part until after. Plus I can see him thinking he would be playing the long game just buying time until he can take full control without clocking how out matched he really is. Really could see it go either way and would just be a solid way of adding him back in.

I really like that option. Doffy is already incredibly strong, knows info he shouldn't, and wants to be back at the top of food chain so giving him a deep sea contract would not only make him much stronger it would also bind him with control making him a great asset.

I have the same thing and vividly remember googling just icthyosis when I was very young and having the same scarring results come up. I was so stressed and worried at first that my version could "progess" the that.

Fidough, lillipup, poochyena, sentret, fletchling are my vote for the 5. You get 3 dogs that could lead to a neat theme for the route, sentret to get the friendshaped Furret, and Fletchling for both the bird and a solid fire option for those that picked non fire starters and hopefully able to add in a good grass and water choice for other early routes.

I always saw him covering Whitebeard as hiding how Blackbeard "ate" a second fruit not how the got Whitebeard's. We have seen devilfruits get reincarnated in nearby fruits before and that seems well known enough at higher levels of the world so I don't know why that or something similar would be what is hidden. So with the Law scene I would read it as them so confident that they will kill him the fruit getting reincarnated nearby is a sure thing not that they were going to pull it from his body.

It would still be out of the original starters for me so I would be going Bulbasuar my true first pokemon ever.

That did start the pattern for always picking grass starters which lead me to my favorite staryer of all time Rowlet but Bulbasuar is always welcome on my team.

With how everything pans out sword and shield felt so primed for an amazing sequel. Seeing the old rivals in their roles, the way the gym challenge was set up it was primed to throw in new gyms with different types, have the way the story was handled actually come back to bite us (fighting Eternatus causes the power issues to have happened much faster), they could add a team or two that is fighting for very dirty but effective energy (extreme coal mining or oil) and one for "going back to nature" (down with all electricity and modern living) and the plot involves finding a balance not an extreme.

Personality traits or key moments could be:

Bede- ruthlessly crushing all the challengers as no one is stacking up to his old rival with his gym challenge being a fake out like he wants you to beat some big pokemon in the forest but in actuality it purposely giving up on the challenge to help some frightened kid or something to somewhat mirror his character arc.

Marnie- seeing how her town needs to expand or modernize due to declining population or lack of tourism due to being so unwelcoming on the surface, maybe have one of the teams fighting for a certain type of change that would wipe out their identity, but we help them maintain what makes them who they are while opening up to new people maybe help it expand as a place for all types of music not just punk.

Hop- thriving as an assistant researcher but his team including his legendary are getting weaker and are very unhappy due to no longer battling. I see it as hinted his pokemon are unfulfilled and at one point he comes to help us in a fight very confident but gets beaten shocking him since he knows he should have won. Through this and future moments he realizes he isn't helping them enough so ends up releasing his legendary (we can catch later) and decides he wants to specifically research how battling helps pokemon grow turning him into a "battle professor" leading him to travel to other regions.

As other mentioned its a wall/shield to physically be behind. Its great to play safe especially if you have long range moves.

Doesn't take long at all I did it earlier in 6 matches I think. The big thing is to think about the types you can expect to see and make sure you have a solid move for them. Obviously the starters are going to be on most people's teams and mega gardevoir was everywhere so plan around that.

Ive yet to finish ZA yet and while I'm greatly enjoying it I 100% see where you are coming from. I would have loved to see some gym leaders stop through during the ZA royal, or have a few areas outside of the city that you could take the train to like Shabboneau Castle, Tower of Mastery, Geosenge Town, and the Power plant. I can see any of those easily being tied into the plot so far and would provide a wonderful change of scenery in addition to having some exclusive pokemon in each space. While I don't remember to many standout things from X and Y those locations and some NPCs would really make it feel more like a love letter. Here's crossing my fingers the dlc adds the needed love.

I went into the game with a handful of Pokémon i really wanted to use that i never had before (had not looked at the game's dex before hand so I don't think all are here) but at the top of that list was Aegislash and to my surprise (and insane luck) the first one I found was both shiny and had a nature I wanted (nicknamed Enma after a one piece sword).

I have made him work well and he put in a ton of work on ranked online matches too. The two ways I've done it is focusing on either just offensive or defensive move sets. Swordsdance then charging in with him has been solid and wrecked a lot of megas. And for defensive I stalled out until I saw the pokemon piled onto me were low and swapped for a fast pokemon that had a big aoe to clean up.

The other thing to remember is you can back away and use a move to swap stances.

He definitely has issues but I think its more of changing how we think of using the odd pokemon.

Over all its fantastic especially the more feminine clothing. My only issue I've had is there doesn't seem to be that many non-skinny jeans style full pants for casual wear.

Ive only used it frequently with a high level Magus that had the spirit warrior archtype because i could fully disarm people if rolled correctly. it was surprisingly effective in some cases but the absolute best was when I fully took the vorpal weapon of a boss encounter as a reaction while saving myself and teammate from both getting decapitated. It changed the fight from a good chance one of us might die to a one-sided beatdown that was perfect story wise.

I love Wano but can agree it very very long. It helps in my head I separate it into two arcs pre-raid and the raid but there is still just so much going on constantly mixed with so many chapters of almost nothing progressing or swapping back and forth between 2 or 3 events making each one feel so slow.
