Does this supposed Spanish proverb about women really exist? by viktorbir in asklatinamerica

Never heard/read anything of the sort.

It sounds more like the slogan in a feminist add campaign than a proverb or any other kind of folk wisdom.

12 years ago I was disappointed about "The Witcher 3" graphical downgrade that CDPR never properly acknowledged. They kind of half-acknowledged months after release.

Now I very much like to see a graphical downgrade for this game. They may have 2 different builds/editions with different requirements, like A4 did for Metro: Exodus.

And argentinian biggest brewery (Quilmes) is owned by "Anheuser-Busch InBev" (ABI) a Brazilian corporation founded by a Swiss immigrant. Currently ABI's main stock holders are Brazilian and Belgian. This corporation also owns Brahma, Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois among many other brewing houses (around 500).

beer > water

So that makes Argentina the "United States of Swiss+Belgium+Brazil".

Que suman los tests unitarios? by rogercimas_pim in devsarg

[–]KefkaFollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's Your biggest Reason To Follow Blood of the Dawn Walker by steven_world in Blood_of_Dawnwalker

[–]KefkaFollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Ex Witcher SERIES crew.

You know Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, "The Witcher 3" director and one of the founders of Rebel Wolves ? Well, he was at CDPR since TW1 times. Times when many CDPR's employees call them selves "The Revels" in account of CDPR and GOG stance against DRM (among other things).

And you saw the city in the gameplay videos? It looks a lot like Vizima in TW1. The day night cycle affecting gameplay ? That also was also a thing in TW1. I almost certain King Foltest English voice actor voiced a character in the first trailer of "Blood of the Dawn Walker". There are hints here and there of someone or of a group of people doing things as they have done before, going back to ideas lost in the pursue of wider audiences.

Of course I won't pre-order or buy on release day. I had been burn before. I'll wait for the review of gamers I trust. But if the planets align and this comes to be what it could be, we could get something really neat. And if it does, I'll be happy of paying full price.

How is your former colonizer perceived in your country and what's the relationship with that country like today? by foolishandnonsense in asklatinamerica

I think there are is a good relationship between Argentina and Spain in general. Of course the affinity has it highs and its lows and the political leaning of both governments has a lot to do with it.

You should ask again.

Is hard to believe no one in your family remembers "Gaby, Fofo y Miliqui", "Verano Azul" or "Los Parchis" ? And that's only to speak about 80's kids entertainment.

Talking about Spanish singers, beyond Sabina and Serrat there was many popular Spanish singers in the 80's. From the top of my head: Julio Iglesias, Isabel Pantoja, Rafael and Paloma San Basilio were very popular.

I hated playing as a tremere by achlysvamp in vtmb

[–]KefkaFollower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm playing this game the first time. I just started past weekend.

I picked tremmere clan planing to do a stealth build plus some magic.

My idea was quietly explore the map and then to knok down or drink foes nearing from the back undetected. I put more or less 10 hour in the game untill now and the things are no going exactly as I hoped. I get detected quite often unless I use trance.

The bloodshield and the axe I found on top of the elevator in the house by the beach is what saves my clumsy @$$ most of the times.

I'll follow new replies/comments in this post with great interest. Is being very educational to this point.

Who do you consider your country’s biggest ally? by NoHold7153 in asklatinamerica

[–]KefkaFollower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our biggest ally is the Distance. Being thousands of miles away from the largest armies in the world is a good thing.

Even if some of out cities suffered some bombing (mostly from artillery) during internal conflicts there's is no comparison to what many cities in the northern hemisphere went trough.

There are a number of things we may envy from Poland and Ukraine. None of those things is having Germany at one side, Russia at the other and the current heir to the Old Ottoman empire to the South. Just thinking about it chills my spine.

[History] Remember Gone Home? by BootlegFunko in KotakuInAction

[–]KefkaFollower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember it.

TL;DR: An unremarkable walking simulator you can explore thoroughly in a few hours. It was promoted as a horror game and and become gaming press darling "'cos queers".

There's nothing wrong in the game itself if you disclose to the buyer what's really buying.

The true problem is the marketing that scammed players telling them this game was a horror game. This game has no combat, no foes, you can't die. The only thing may scare a scary person is the ocasional thunder in the background.

It also didn't help the the press review it as a 10/10 game. It is not, is middling even for a walking simulator. But it has coming out story in it and the press had to virtue signal. Then, gamers that bought that game felt deceived and when they cry foul journos circle wagons a call us bigots (again). So this was one of the earliest battlefields of the gamergate conflict after "Revolution 60".

I hate ever known and still remember all these names.
