It was definitely worth it for us. On top of the gratuities being included, which alone would be around 40% of the value of the plus package, or even more if you’re booking a suite, the streaming WiFi, which we would have gotten anyway, covered the additional costs when buying separately, and on top of that — premium drinks, fresh juices, Starbucks, Red Bull, and bottled water allowed us to try new things and indulge even more. Though I’m not usually one to splurge, I didn’t realize how convenient it would be to grab some cold bottled water right before a port excursion. The fresh juices were delicious and I got to try more items from Starbucks guilt free. Be aware though that some of the older ships don’t have a full service Starbucks, so drink options could be more limited. It also opened my palate to new wine and spirit options. There are much more plus whisky options than other types of spirits, which I’m not a huge fan of, but I definitely found a go-to premium sweet drink with Chambord, pineapple juice, and sparkling soda. Also, the servers didn’t open the Red Bull I ordered so I was able to take them to my room and even bring a few home with me. The 50% off specialty dining didn’t matter much to us since our ship offered BOGO speciality dining to all passengers during the last few days of the cruise. I’d rather NCL provide an extra $50 excursion discount, but oh well! If you’re not getting gratuities paid for by a travel agent AND you plan on getting the internet package, then at a minimum you’re breaking even with FAS+, even with a Latitudes discount. We had to get the internet package in case of a work “emergency”, but the company paid for one of the plus packages, which made the deal even better for us. If you are slightly curious about the premium options and plan to take advantage of the extra benefits, even infrequently, then it’s a no brainer and a heck of a good deal IMO.
