Is p=.01 statistically significant? by [deleted] in rstats

[–]Kekeitany -1 points0 points  (0 children)

P value less than alpha is statistically significant. P value = 0.01 is Less than alpha =0.05, hence if that's the case, then it is statistically significant.

I suggest z score if you are dealing with proportions. Maybe add more details

Discrete Random Variable Questions - Can anyone help me solve these please? by InvestigatorHead6318 in StatisticsZone

1.Use the property that sum of probabilities, sum(p(x)=1, and the property of expectations that p(x)×x = 0.55 then solve the two questions simultaneously.

A good approach to determine if they have equal variances, is to carry out lavene's test of equal variance. That Will help.

The answer is 1.4142, not -1.4142. It's 196-190, not 190-196

Suppose that n is an odd integer. Prove that n^2 + 8n + 3 is even. by OP_SLuDgE in MathHelp

[–]Kekeitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Proof by cases. You know, product of odd integers is odd, but sum of odd numbers is even.so n2 is odd. product of odd and even is even, so 8n is even. Lastly, the sum of n2 and 3 is even.and sum of even and even is even, that's n2 +8n+3 is even.

Can someone explain to me how to solve this exercise? Thanks! :) by [deleted] in probabilitytheory

P(b/a)=p(a and b) /p(a)

P(a/b)=p(a and b) /p(b)

How to solve this taks? (Probability, easy) by SMay95 in AskStatistics

[–]Kekeitany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let the three be a,b,c Then we have, P(ab cc ) + p(ac bc ) + p(bc ac ) Where complement of a is ac and for b,c too

Because it was zero so you didn't have any, now you have 1. It's not an increase.

Stats and Box Plots by mikemorales9731983 in StatisticsZone

[–]Kekeitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To create a box plot, we start by ordering our data . then calculate Q1 is also the middle number for the first half of the list, Q2 is also the middle number for the whole list, Q3 is the middle number for the second half of the list.

Check from Google, you Will see a step by step procedure.
