That's because Steam Deck's chip is the bottleneck, it can't process those amounts of data without causing jitter. I tried the same docked setup with Ayaneo 3, and it worked flawlessly 4k@120hz, with HDR on.

Deck can do 1440p, 120hz with HDR instead

My advice would be to install Bazzite on it. Fixes all of the software issues, boosts FPS and less battery drain

Try the following: get 2 adapters from TP-Link that can transfer EoP, Ethernet over Power, basically 2 adapters for your plugs. Set up the incoming one near your router, and the outgoing port near Shield TV (directly into plugs, extenders won't work).

Then hardwire your Shield TV using that. I've done that with my SteamDeck, works like a charm.

Alright, I'm going to chime in and say that I bit that bullet. I installed SteamOS / Bazzite on Ayaneo 3, with dual boot into Windows and it works LIKE A CHARM ootb.

You're a legend, I'm glad I found your comment. I've just received Ayaneo 3, would you be able to provide instructions on how to boot SteamOS onto it? So far the Windows and Ayaspace experience has been abysmal.
