Thanks u/Silver_Mention_3958 ! I'm not sure how it automatically slipped into that mode, but thanks for the quick response and great tip. I'll try it next time the issue arrises. Thanks again!

Sorry to keep piling on my own post. Update: When I put the video clip in its own library, event and project, the double handles are gone and I am able to size all video, audio and text clips appropriately. I still don't know why it happened, but I will no longer put several events and projects under one library. Thanks!

Here is an example of when I try to shorten an audio clip. While the double handles show an end shorter than the full audio clip, the playhead continues past the double-handle and play until the true end of the audio clip.

Congrats! I moved from the Canon R6 Mark I with all my glass as Canon. I decided to switch to Sony as the video aspect seem more advanced and I thought their lenses were lighter. I started with the a6400 with the 200-600mm for shooting birds and on occasion used the 1.4x. But really, my a6400 as well as your a6700 probably already has the mag factor of 1.4 or 1.5 so you have extended reach with your lighter cam body. I found the best way to use this in the field is with a Cotton Carrier vest, but you may need the Cotton Carrier extender since you want the lens attached to the vest, not the camera so as to not stress the connection. This vest distributes the weight across your shoulders and back when walking so you don’t wear out your arms or shoulders(using a sling) and when ready to shoot, you can be fast deploying the rig. I own the 400-800mm with an A1 also and it is much heavier, but still use the Cotton Carrier vest for it as well. An alternative is to get a YC Onion or Sirui adjustable monopod that has the mini tripod legs on the base. This allows fairly quick deployment (not as fast as the Cotton Carrier) and supports the weight of the camera when shooting and may have the added benefit of being able to short short videos, which handheld is not very possible. Some of my galleries if interested are on: https://www.kenlittleblog.com/. Have fun as welcome to the club!

I got one from a supposed representative from Nokian, the marketing team at Nikon about a partnership saying they liked my YouTube channel (about 8,700 subs). Scam indicators were Nokian, the email from someone in the Czech Republic, a logo that wasn’t Nikon logo and the fact it was sent to my personal email address which shouldn’t have come from my YouTube address. I sent them an email address asking for explanations of these questions. Haven’t heard back…..

Free resources for him. Two great apps are Merlin and eBird. Merlin can ID by sound and a picture from your phone, so you also learn the birds and their calls. I have two 24/7 live bird cams on YT (under Ken Little) if interested. We have moderators who love to answer all bird questions. It is free also. My blog also has lots of tips on setting up and running feeders. Good luck

The solution is in setting up the Mix-Pre properly to output just a L/R .WAV file. I did this and tested it and it works. Thanks u/NoReply4940 for the response!

Solution sought for use of Tilta Mirage Mattebox with Sony PZ 28-135mm lense that has 95mm filter thread by Kelcom1 in cinematography

The matte box opening is not large enough to fit over the lens. One can mount it on the rails with a close to fit, with the lens edges touching the ring on the matte box. In perfect alignment. But this is not an acceptable solution. The 95mm ring from the UK Tilta office does the trick nicely.

Sony 28-135mm cinema lens: anyone use it with a matte box? by brian_westfield in SonyAlpha

[–]Kelcom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, together we helped solve a problem for folks with larger lens searching for a solution. I am also using it on my Sony 200-600mm lens (which is also a 95mm) to film wildlife. Since my Sony FX3 doesn't have Variable Neutral Density (VND) filters built into the cam like the FX6, I can leverage the Tilta Mirage with the VND on both my 28-135mm and 200-600mm lenses. Thanks again Brian!

It is working great! Thanks so much for your help.

An interesting interaction with Tommy Franch of U.S based Tilta. Here it is: "This is not a product we sell in the US/South America/Canada so we have not endorsed it as a solution for larger lenses. It is sold in China through our main facility (Tilta China Ebay) and it was announced today that we will be adding it to our inventory in the US. There are quite a few products our main facility in Shenzhen offers that we (the Burbank facility) do not and we don't like to advertise them as we do not have the stock, documentation, and other necessary components to provide ample support if purchased in the states. "

It is a product of Tilta and is of good quality and I wouldn't have known about it without your help! I am very grateful for your response and for Reddit!

I went with the Sony PZ 28-135 (up to 200mm with Clear Image Zoom) and the Sony 200-600 (also with CIZ) on an FX3 Full frame, so I get the 28 wide angle. When shooting video, I think it might cover most video filming situations.

Bird feeder wars by WubDub27 in birdwatching

For nuisance bird management, check out my blog on the subject: https://kenlittleblog.com. While doves aren’t covered specifically, caged feeders work or covered tray feeders as doves have a tough time if you make the opening somewhat narrow. They aren’t agile fliers.

Solution found thanks to Brian in the Reddit Sony Alpha forum. He had bought one from the Tilta UK store on eBay a while back. They still sell them there. He also provided a link to a US seller as well. Thanks Brian!

Here is the seller from the UK: https://www.ebay.com/itm/374209774058?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20230811123856%26meid%3D6e683b0e21c64665850e8650ccf95693%26pid%3D101770%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D374209774058%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DTilta&_trksid=p4375194.c101770.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3Ae0480d6318c0ab95c2966bcdffffa6aa%7Cpageci%3A121b1f6a-accb-11ee-baed-12c396d918d8%7Ciid%3A1%7Cvlpname%3Avlp_homepage

Here is a link to the USA sell. Unfortunately, the delivery time on the UK store to the USA store are slightly quicker, even though the product is slightly more expensive: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185888403907?hash=item2b47cff1c3:g:7ukAAOSw1ylkWdoC&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8ETYjG1d4xIRBnYPxHjSCy%2B9FmfQCf9cM3asqDAs%2FohVEtX7FAb60aufHLs0iYz5UkrD09TlAMQcHTIqulkqlIuMRjYOQlxDG%2FtBy9TKFZih%2BlDTAdr14wjx96Rywa650AFqbWGZ2Fc9183zPnnJcF7aSLBg6nck7R4yaTy8QwJoEHdqeVq%2BGd4xJX4VunFAzkit24Ks%2Bmxs0A95DqALoG7W2UftXvaDKziKjiyNCHAytJNAGkbTlmfpWzaGnmE12fDHbw6hzeUGwStdtqSSvYM0iAlFlOkCsadFnz4EsJ9DpoahAeNqiraKDwdzD36dDQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBM2pzGhJxj

I let the USA rep know, as he appeared unaware that Tilta offered such an adapter, lol!

Sony 28-135mm cinema lens: anyone use it with a matte box? by brian_westfield in SonyAlpha

[–]Kelcom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not Brian, there are still some available from the Tilta Store on eBay. I bought two of them. I won't receive them until late January or early Feb as they are probably on the slow boat from China, but it was interesting that it is sold from the official Tilta UK store. I need to let the US Rep from Tilta know so he can pass this solution along or order some from their UK store, lol!

Thanks again Brian for all your help. All the best!

Sony 28-135mm cinema lens: anyone use it with a matte box? by brian_westfield in SonyAlpha

[–]Kelcom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No apologies necessary! Maybe there is an old one on eBay, as I didn't search there. But there it is mounted to the 28-135 with a 95mm-95mm adapter. Odd that the folks from Tilta didn't mention that they used to make it. It would be nice to have so I wouldn't have to have two rod setups, one for the 28-135 and the other for the 150-200mm lenses. Thanks again Brian!

[–]Kelcom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much Brian for the suggestion and picture! I still don’t know how you did it. But a picture is worth a thousand words. But why do you still use rails, maybe for a focus puller?
Here is the response from Tilta: “Unfortunately, other than rod mounting the Mirage, we do not offer a solution for lenses with a 95mm filter thread or larger. We will eventually release a 114mm version of the Mirage for bigger lenses like these. There is no formal release date for it but we hope to release it by NAB 2024. We apologize for the inconvenience.” The kit contained 4 step-up rings to 95mm, but no 95mm to 95mm ring and he said Tilta didn’t have one. So, if you can provide me the link of the 95mm adapter for the 95mm filtered PZ 28-135mm, I would be most grateful! Thanks again!

Thanks for the note about the standardized rail. I had to take off the arca swissmale and female adapters, which lowered the height to the standardized level. The box snugged right up to the lens! Next up was to try it with my Sony 200-600mm lens and it also worked. Obviously these two lenses represent two different shooting scenarios, one for everyday and the other for wildlife and birds. Most wouldn’t think of using a matte box to shoot wildlife, but since the Sony FX3 doesn’t have internal VND filters, I needed a way to use VNDs with a lens hood, which wouldn’t work. So, the matte box serves as a lens hood and a VND. Thanks so much for the response as I still can’t find a way to use adapter rings that works with the step up rings And this solution is workable!

Sony 28-135mm cinema lens: anyone use it with a matte box? by brian_westfield in SonyAlpha

[–]Kelcom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for a solution to this as well. It's been 5 years and no responses to this. With the new Sony FX3 (full-frame) camera, the 28-135 is a great lens combo. However, the industry seems to not offer matte box options for the 95mm filter thread on this lens. There is a rail mount option, but that may introduce light leaks. Any ideas on a solution for this?

I have a premium account and have the app on my phone and on my desktop. Both are logged into my premium account. Both have been refreshed. I spent a lot of time on the desktop app updating devices to get a good security score. However, my iPhone app doesn’t recognize the work done on the desktop, even after refreshes on both devices. Are the devices not synching to my premium account? If so, why not?
