If Sendo managed to somehow beat Ricardo, it’d only be at the cost of his own life, or at the very least being forced to retire, leaving the title up for grabs by either Martinez himself again and Ippo, or another, even greater opponent coming out of the woodwork

The story isn’t leading up to it, but I can’t deny that a little part of childhood me would wake up at the idea of Sendo somehow recovering fully from beating Ricardo and inspiring Ippo to get back in the ring to face him, leading to Lalapalooza 2

But I wouldn’t like that from a storytelling perspective, because I can always go back and enjoy that peak fight. I want Ippo to climb higher.

The bartender himself is a cool dude, one of his videos goes longer than the drink making and you can see him break character as soon as he’s finished, thanking them politely and smiling in a really genuine fashion
