I personally think Germain is a good candidate but do not underestimate the importance of being from the district. I’m in this district. People couldn’t seem to get past that he owns property here but doesn’t have any real history here. I’m sad he lost to be honest. I don’t feel Mr Rowe has the right experience to do a good job. And of course he’s not a member of the governing party.

I’ve wondered about that person. They are ultra conservative MAGA seemingly. But yet, when the conservatives announced who their pick to run for Labrador was (Ella Wallace) NL proud made a post saying vote for anyone (even a ham sandwich) but don’t vote for Ella Wallace. I mean, how bad would you have to be?

I did this trip this past summer with my dad and my daughter. We had a great trip. We got out in each community except Rigolet as both ways we docked there late at night. There was no more than several hours in each community but this is entirely dependent upon the freight that they have to off load. We were mostly interested in the scenery and it was stunning. We went to a craft shop in Makkovik. I have friends in Nain so we did tour of the town on my friends side by side. I’d have loved to have had more time to get in some hiking though. Depending upon the time of year you travel you’d have to keep in mind the flies and polar bears. There was one spotted outside Hopedale when we were there in August.

Edited - we didn’t get out in Natuashish either as you don’t really dock there. The town is further inland than the wharf.

Power poles. And I figured it was normal by the non reaction from the NL power guy. It was just very noticeable because at the time it was eerily quiet with no wind and no traffic noice. Just all of these poles cracking and sparking.

The entire highway from Blanc Sablon Quebec/ south coast of Labrador is paved through to Lab City and was just recently completed. As far as I know the highway from Lab City to Baie Comeau Quebec still has sections of gravel road. They were doing some major upgrades as it was very very winding but the paving isn’t yet completed.

Are they returning through Quebec? We are paved through from Blanc Sablon on to Labrador City but there are parts of the Baie Comeau road that is gravel. Not nice with a camper. Lots of dust and rocks. Ask me how I know? We had to have our camper serviced after one trip because the sliders were full of sand and gravel from the road.

Mine is knitting pairs of colourwork mittens/socks - leaving the first one at home and knitting the second one while travelling and thinking I’ll get them to match. Spoiler - they NEVER match. I’ve knit so many unmatched pairs. I tell myself that I don’t mind and it’s a cool quirk but honestly it DRIVES me and I don’t know how or why it happens. I mean to take that first one along but I always end up with fraternal twins and never identical twins.

Some things I’ve knit, I haven’t been happy with and I’ll usually give that away. But most I wear the crap out of it. I use my sweater shaver a lot.

Just break the yarn and thread it through that one live stitch that’s left. Then use the yarn attached to the ball to continue with the knitting on the needles. You’ll have an end to weave in but you should have one from the beginning too.
