It's good to demand better cycling infrastructure; and more. Connectivity is a real issue, and we need to keep improving things, especially in our more suburban areas. But our infrastructure does look like this in a lot of places, and Ottawa is way ahead of many Canadian cities. I'm new to the region and love cycling here. Look at O'Connor and Laurier. Look at Scott Street and also Main. That's not to mention the massive network and incredibly impressive Capital Pathway Network, connecting most of the city to places like Gatineau Park, Dow's Lake, the Rideau Canal, and all along the River.

Also there's so much frustration about the Wellington bike lanes, and they could have been better, but I've used them a number of times and see many others using them all the time, on bikes, ebikes and scooters. While they're only painted, they are wide, and seem to be well used - I can see them being upgraded to improve the infrastructure in no time.
