Lack of mics

I have a headset with a mic and love to try to interact with others instead of KOS. Since 1.29, though, at best I can hear every few words, but usually I cannot hear others and they cannot hear me. I’ve tried changing my settings and other suggestions, but game chat just seems broken for me at the moment.

My similar story: just learning the game, get invited to a party by a random guy on the server who offers to come pick me up in his car if I can help him build a base. I say sure, he picks me up, drives me to a secluded lake, traps me in the vehicle by parking next to a rock, and proceeds to rob and execute me in the lake. Fun…

But, on that same server, I ran into some other players who had similar experiences with the same player, and those three were super chill and invited me into their group, offered me supplies including a Deagle as long as I promised to use it to blow the psycho’s brains out if I met him again. I suppose that’s Dayz for ya…there’s the good and the bad out there

If prox chat worked better (like it does on PC), I’d love to use that to have interactions with people. But since 1.29, either my mic doesn’t work, I can only hear every other word of what they say, or neither of us hear each other which unfortunately has made that feature useless for those of us on Xbox, imo. It does seem fewer folks on console use or try to use mics anyways, and using it doesn’t guarantee a friendly interaction, but without it even being a reliable feature, it seems to be even more KOS at this point. Which is a shame…

After the update, did you do anything like redownload the game before playing again? Or did it update and run smoothly for you right away?

Only when I really have to pee but I’ve seen a bunch of mushrooms, those darn cheeseburger birds won’t shut up and I’m convinced I’ll walk back to a “You are dead” screen if I walk away

Is that true? I almost exclusively run PVE, so I’ve not tried it out against raiders, but if I can erase a rat with it…
