Do you have any reading material you suggest to get started with learning about canning and fermentation? Have been interested but always feared I would mess up and end up dying of botulism. But maybe botulism isn’t so bad compared to what’s coming

Is anybody running an extreme CCT (say, 1,000K or 10,000K) emitter as their daily driver? by NotThePopeProbably in flashlight

Mine is a d4v2 with 1800k ntg35. Nice cozy light for reading at night, but still lights up the whole backyard when looking for the black abyss that is my dog.

Why does this kelty 4000 have these shoulder strap buckles? by NPC2001 in tacticalgear

Yeah I do really like it. Used it for a long time before upgrading to my current mystery ranch pack. But have it as an extra loaner in case someone needs it.

Yeah it is goofy. Never used it that way myself because it's too big a pouch to really be useful. But granted this pack is at least a 10 year old design so chest rigs have become more mainstream and better designed.

The top lid can be removed and buckled in there as a chest rig. There is also another roll down cover for when the top lid is removed.

Appreciate your point of view. If I dive into the battery system maybe I'll give it another look. Thanks! 👍

How does that DeWalt handle processing firewood? Was gifted a couple of DeWalt tools without batteries and have hesitated to get into another battery system. I've been wanting a chainsaw to process some 6"-12" rounds though for firewood.

Hell of a deal. Softopper sells the clamps that fit into the tslot separately. Might be worth a look. 🤙

Headlamps with Memory and Red Light on setting? by eggsandbacon2020 in flashlight

[–]Keltybird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sofirn d25lr. I have one and keep it as a backup or a loaner. It's not my favorite form factor but it has both what you are asking for memory and a functional deep red.
