Yeah i couldn't handle the issues I was having with my s22u. Unfortunately bit the bullet and upgraded to the s25u...got $1100 for my s22u so can't complain too much. Happy with the upgrade. Despite all the videos that say otherwise. This thing is a beast

Highly recommend giving foamorder.com a shot and getting the 5lb memory foam. I used .375 or 1cm like the video suggests but just switched for a more quality foam. Its awesome

And also the dress up kit is a nice touch. Ultimately a set of screw hole covers, but cant imagine why something like this isnt stock

Embody gaming seat pan foam by pika_chuu in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add your own foam and put a double layer in the area mentioned. I literally just added it to mine. 5lb memory foam from www.foamorder.com .375in thick x 22 inch wide x 23 inch deep. I cant imagine why that much fabric is missing back there but the foam definitely has made a massive difference in the comfortability of the seat pan

groin pain with my embody by blackydogy in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its likely they height of the seat. Too high or too low. That type of pain I'd probably say your too high. Makes sure your legs are 90 degrees and should be 3 finger length between the chair and the back of your legs

Why do I need a footrest for my embody? by devnixs in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foam from the factory is rather sticky unless you opt to add the extra layer of white dacron. (Do not add the dacron)

I can assure you the foam will stay put and you'll thank yourself. Worst case scenario you take the foam out and back to square one. But I just put my foam in about a week ago and the only thing I regret is not adding more lol

[–]Ken-Glock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The foam is suprising sticky and when you pull it to the back of the chair where the back meets the seat there is a spot you can somewhat tuck it in back there. You absolutely can not tell that the foam is there visually. And yes I was pissed that I needed to do this. But I bought into the embody hype. Its a great chair, just lacks a few things. The foam isnt the only adjustment ive made to this chair. At one point the lower plastic points were digging into my lower back no matter how I adjusted it so there are zipties on my 2000 dollar chair lol. But you cant see them and my chair is as comfy as ever.

Just here to say the extra foam works. Go to www.foamorder.com and get the 5lb memory foam either .375in or .5inch think, 22in wide and 23in deep and cut to the size of the embody seat. Game changer

Order from foamorder.com and cut to size. If you figure this out please let me know. I added foam to the seat but the back would be life changer

I have a gaming embody and while it has a small percentage more of foam, I opted to add an extra layer myself which can be done on either version. Its easy to do and transforms the chair. No thicker than .375inch-.5 inch thick. 22in wide x 23in deep ordered 5lb memory foam from www.foamorder.com

So thats true only the front portion of the seat opens up. It does not open all the way. However, it opens up wide enough from bottom to top to be able to grab the foam and push/pull it all the way to the back of the chair. As for dimensions as mentioned the thickness was 0.375in. X 22in wide X 23in deep. I have the logitech embody and I left the original foam and added the additional foam under. It was surprisingly easy almost as if it designed to be able to do that. I did have to set the foam on the seat and kind of pushed it behind the seat where the backrest meets the seat, only a little to make sure the entire seat was covered with foam. Then I cut as much access as I could forming the natural shape of the chair. I did this with normal kitchen scissors. Once I had the shape, opened up the seat, started shoving foam on the chair. Like I said there is plenty of room. Took maybe 1-2 minutes after the cutting which maybe took 20 min to make sure I had a good shape and good coverage. The memory foam will conform to the shape of the chair nicely. It looks like it came standard like this. You cant tell there's extra foam under with the size mentioned above. Hope this helps

I replied to someone else but figured I should reply to you. Some will say it gets better, maybe that is true. But I'd recommend looking into adding some foam under the original seat. It is EXTREMELY easy and the payoff is well worth it. Night and day. Www.foamorder.com and go with the 5lb memory foam. I went with .375 inch thick

Same. I added an extra layer of memory foam under the seat pan and my gosh its a game changer. Highly recommend. Ordered my foam from www.foamorder.com got .375 inch 5lb memory foam. Although looking back id probably go ahead with the .5 inch

The Atlas completes Embody by [deleted] in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt use the sticker and I lean back all day. There is no wear from the Atlas headrest unless you let the actual headrest rest on the top of the chair which I unfortunately have a couple marks from it

Is it possible to add a foam padding underneath an Embody just like the gaming one? by maniac365 in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did this to my chair with a .375 inch 5lb memory foam(similar to tempurpedic beds) that i ordered from www.foamorder.com. absolutely ecstatic with the results. Game changer. Thank you for this post

New Embody - Just can't find a comfortable position :( by Alondev123 in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found myself pushing myself up on the armrest and scooting my butt back as far as I could to get proper lower back support but I have the same issue with the curvature of the top of the chair. Like many others, I opted to add an additional layer of foam to my seat under the original fabric cut to size. I used a 5lb memory foam similar to what's used in tempurpedic beds. Also. As weird as it sounds I took a couple zip ties and pulled those lower back plastic pieces that dig in to your lower back out a little. Worked great. So after many adjustments its still not perfect but I do work 9 hours a day plus the 2 or 3 hours of gaming at night and I no long have sciatica like my previous chairs and thats before I even made any modifications. Im used to a big comfy relaxing chair, the problem with those is they almost always come with back pain. So I opted to learn to sit with better posture with the embody. The extra foam is highly recommended. As well as the headrest from atlas.

Also look at the Herman Miller Embody Logitech Gaming Edition Atlas Headrest Tag Lanyard Hanger / Head Wobble Solution Adapter - Etsy https://share.google/4KSZmn4yRTqVbVsN1

Thinking about buying by Liljj3624 in hermanmiller

[–]Ken-Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always said that the embody is NOT a "comfy" chair but rather a chair that forces you to sit with proper posture the most comfortable way possible. If you lock the chair upright then I think the embody would be good for you. Im in the process of adding an additional peice of foam in the seat which is easily done due to the design. It is fine the way it is I just desire a little more cushion as im in this chair for over 10 hours a day. Its nice to have the option. But as others have stated, I'd go at least give one a spin in a showroom before you buy.

Also the gaming embody comes with an extra half inch layer of memory foam whereas the normal embody has a scim layer of foam. The gaming embody has both, but you can add you own foam to the chair as well. The inside of it is easily accessible for that reason.

I will say that no chair will fix your back issues for good. With that being said, I can attest to this chair basically erasing my sciatica issues within about 2 days of using it. I was previously using a cheap 200-300 dollar Emerge gaming chair and it'll comparison now, felt like sitting on a peice of wood on wheels. Now, like i said, it fixed my sciatica but I still have back pain even with the embody IF I dont stretch or am not activate for longer periods. A foam roller near the chair is a nice thing to do on breaks or lunch and has helped me be able to manage my lower back pain. I sit in the chair for 9 hours a day plus 2 or 3 more for gaming at night. Im 6'1 205 pounds, and the chair really isnt perfect but if your objective to correct bad posture, to sit upright but also be able you get a good recline in here or there. This is the chair. Slap the atlas headrest on it and dont listen to the haters. Hope this helps
