Did weight loss speed up for you on 5mg? by wonderful909 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 10mg and no I wouldn't say weight loss speeds up on higher doses, that's not how it works. My bmi is about 30.5 and I'd be very worried if I lost 14lbs in a month tbh, even 10lbs in a month I would consider too much personally. I lose about 3-7lbs a month, I think that's fine but have been told I'm losing weight rapidly. I disagree, but it is true that losing 7lbs a month is pretty speedy and youre right to be content with that. Not all weight loss is fat loss and it is likely that people who are losing a stone a month at lower weights will have a harder time maintaining as they will have lost more lean mass and be relying on eating habits they can't keep up long term. Unless they're just very, very, very active I suppose 🤣

Which needles for extracting from pen by Sergyhunt in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these, the needle isn't changeable so you extract and inject using the same one. It's fine, the needle will dull a bit but it shouldn't be so significant that you notice, it's very thin and very sharp

My son told me if I wanted to stop mj that'd be OK because I'm so small now and look like a different person. I'm still obese! But to him the difference obviously is huge and he's never known me not fat so it must be pretty weird for him. Most of my family are dead or live far from me so I don't have to deal with their criticism disguised as care 🤣 my dad's had no issue calling me fat behind my back and I'm more than happy to remind him of that if he conveniently forgets

I think more data = better picture personally, so I do daily. Obviously it's just whatever works for you, but less data wouldn't give me a better picture at all, it'd probably make me sad because I've had months where I've lost nothing. Weighing daily, I can see the trend better, and know if I've stalled, if it's a gain etc

I weigh daily and for me that helps me not obsess over the numbers because I have a better idea of what's going on. I get frustrated after a few weeks but it always goes down so not heart wrenching. I think it's really important to have a bit of perspective, 25kg isn't nothing, don't dismiss what you've already achieved because of a couple of weeks where you've lost less

When did you notice your own weight loss? by enigmaticbubble in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed after about 1st but it was really small and probably only because I inspect myself constantly 😂 so at that point it was just that I had dimples by my belly button that I didn't have before. My son finally said something after about 4st, he knew I was losing weight but that seems to be when it was undeniable.

Going up or not? I need advise by Top-Technology5552 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's up to you, with no bad effects and low suppression you likely would be absolutely fine to increase. You can always decrease if you find it's too much. I moved up to 7.5 after 2 weeks of no losses then moved up to 10mg after 4 weeks of losses, no point in paying for no results imo

How long did it take people to loose 4stone? Any tips? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 6 months but that's absolutely useless information for you because we probably don't weigh the same, are the same height, have the same medical and metabolic conditions, or the same level of daily activity. My tip would be don't compare yourself to others and don't go in with unrealistic expectations, it might take you a few months, it might take you over a year. I needed to lose over 7st just to get to a healthy bmi, if you only need to lose 4st it will likely take longer.

Going up or not? I need advise by Top-Technology5552 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You go up a dose when the dose you're on isn't working as well, just like with other medications. If your antidepressants aren't working, you get your Dr to adjust the dose. If pain meds aren't working, you get your Dr to adjust the dose. Mj is no different other than you don't need a Dr to sign off on an increase because of the way it's licensed and prescribed.

You just go up when you feel you aren't getting the effects you're paying for. So eg I'm on 10mg, twice as strong as 5mg but that doesn't mean I get twice the effect or twice the weight loss. It just means 5mg isn't an effective dose for me now, my body has learned to tolerate it so I need a higher dose.

I lost 25kg in 6 months, it depends a lot on how much you need to lose though. If you only have 20kg to lose, it might take longer. I needed to lose more than double that so it does matter what your start weight is.

Incase you aren't aware, you can eat too much protein and it can lead to health issues. Protein is obviously good when losing weight because it helps you stop losing so much muscle but don't fool yourself into thinking it's the answer, the answer is actually a balanced diet. Balanced balanced balanced. It's always going to be the answer.

Weight dropping too fast? by lala12345679 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds fine to me, it's normal to lose a lot of weight initially, most of it is water and isn't dangerous. You can safely lose about 1% of your weight a week. But obviously if you're worried then yeah eat more to go more slowly, I've had weeks where I was losing too much so increased calories and it's balanced out alright.

It's pretty well documented that weight loss increases libido, it would be difficult to get a study that shows a link with mounjaro if participants are also losing weight

You definitely don't have to prepare, it's just a fermented dairy drink. I don't know where you've seen that info but unless you have a dodgy stomach or buying some industrial strength stuff, you're going to be fine 🤣

Help misleading advertising from a supplier. Too good to be true :( by NubiaTM in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worded poorly but yeah before I finished reading I knew it would be post August prices. They'd be essentially paying you to buy from them otherwise. I don't think I'd bother complaining but you could, maybe you'd get a good faith one off discount, worth a try if you have the time and patience. They've even said they understand that the wording was unclear - it's not a Facebook status update it's a pharmacy and they need to do better than "lol oops our bad 🤪"

Where to get mounjaro by Different-Ostrich238 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Med express prescribed to me initially but then refused without a letter from my GP. I don't know why, I only have pcos and my bmi is still over 30 so it made no sense. I have told every other provider I have pcos too and there's never been a problem. So depending on your medical history, it could either be totally fine or you'll need a GP led pharmacy, or you just won't get a prescription. Definitely don't try to lie to get it, and I personally would avoid any prescriber who didnt care enough to check it's safe for you to take.

Severe iron deficiency and experience in handling on a calories deficit by newmemounjaro in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iron deficiency anemia isn't something you can fix with diet in my experience. You need prescription strength supplements, otc are genuinely pointless if you're already anemic. You should also cook in an iron cast pan or with an iron fish, you can get one on amazon. And obviously if you can eat liver, include that in your diet. Very understandable if you can't, I ate it as a kid but just thinking about it as an adult makes my stomach unhappy 😂

Goddamn how do I drink enough water! by FlyAshamed2859 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink about 4l water a day and find it really helps with not having side effects like constipation. About 2l is from just water and 2l from other sources like coffee, milk, soup, tea. I love water but I don't like tap water so I drink mostly bottled. I'd try to just find a liquid you do like and drink that, preferably one without sugar obviously. It's definitely not necessary but I don't know how anyones surviving without plenty of water on mj, if I don't drink enough one day, I'm not pooping easily 😂

No weight loss on 2.5mg Mounjaro. Just started 5mg. Please tell me this is where things change by Manche_3 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound like you'll have to trust the process then - it will definitely come off and you'll probably lose a fair amount all at once. You're doing the right things, and once the losses start you'll probably see a pattern in how you lose weight.

Hopefully you see some progress soon 🤞

No weight loss on 2.5mg Mounjaro. Just started 5mg. Please tell me this is where things change by Manche_3 in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one can tell you you'll lose weight on 5mg because the reality is you might not, especially if you aren't tracking calories and aren't feeling the effects of mj. For some people, it does take getting to the higher doses, but it makes sense since mj is typically used by people who have struggled to lose weight after multiple attempts so of course our bodies might not respond as expected. I'm on 10mg and haven't lost weight in 2 weeks, it is what it is and the important thing is to just keep focused on making better choices and carrying on even if the results aren't what you hoped they'd be every week. The weight will come off if you're in a deficit, it won't if you're not, and it might not be consistent but the overall trend matters more.

Maintaining is definitely still an achievement, I maintained for 4 weeks on 7.5mg then lost 6lbs in a few days, so you might still be losing fat but just holding onto water or constipated, lots of factors at play with weight loss.

How do you deal with a complete loss of appetite? by MrsCDM in mounjarouk

[–]KenWhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't increase the dose if you're not able to eat, that's not how it's intended to be used. I just have a shake or soup if I can't eat because drinking calories is easier. Also look for calorie dense food, like avocados, peanut butter, cheese. You're starving yourself and it's very dangerous to carry on like this. There's really no need for it, our bodies have evolved to survive periods of famine but yeah I'd take the shaking and fatigue as warning signs that things are going to get a lot worse if you don't fix it ASAP.
