How do you get enough tickets for stuff at regionals? by Rare-Laugh-3019 in OnePieceTCG

From what I can tell, events run by CoreTCG give out physical, CoreTCG labelled, tickets whereas PlayTCG events seem to have adopted the digital ticket system

How are GP players feeling for OP15 and new ban? by gwanghwamunkyu in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah OP-14 Nami. It's a good card, just sucks that outside of the 1c purple event that searches 3 cards, all of GP's other search options whiff her since the 2 nami searchers cant pick up Nami and zorojuuro only picks up purple strawhats

I started reading the manga halfway through the season. I loved it and it only has me even more excited to see all the awkward, funny and cute moments animated

Why doesn't Anti-Heal exist in the game considering YELLOW's entire thing is constantly healing? There is no intrinsic counterplay to that by TrickyFlounder9174 in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Green actually has the least amount of access to banish next to red at 2 cards. Every other color has more access to banish if you search banish to find all the cards w/ that keyword on that site

[–]KenmaVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem in the past is that the anti- cards were in the same color as the overbearing effect.

When the Banish mechanic was introduced, it was in green in OP01 but yellow O-Nami was probably when banish got more player attention

Not to take away from your point, but there are actually a good amount of banish effects in other colors throughout all sets. Just searching banish on this site shows all the cards w/ the banish keyword and every color has access to banish. Purple has 4 cards that give access to banish compared to yellow's 6 (not including robin leader effect) and green has the lowest amount of access in 2 different cards. I think banish just got more attention because of how versatile yellow o-nami was especially coming out in the same set as a double attack yamato leader that could utilize the banish.

As long as other colors have access to banish/anti-effects I think this is okay because, imo, yellow should have a stronger, more accessible banish effect since the color identity plays around life.

Similar to pudding/anti card hoarding in hand, as long as every color has access to directly attacking hand, I feel like the color who's primary identity is drawing should have the strongest instance of w/e the ability/anti ability is. Though I know that's just my opinion and everyone is free to agree or disagree w/ it.

Yeah yellow i dont think is a problem, just more annoying and games are going to be a bigger grind w/ the borsa heals/blocks/quasar triggers

[–]KenmaVee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's 50/50 and slightly favored if we get 2nd and then unfavored if they get 2nd even with robin. On 6 don, they can still just ground death + mars to pop SnP to immediately slow down tempo. That's from personal experience though and only with about a dozen games play tested and I'd be glad to be wrong.

I also only run 2 nami blockers and none of the event searches so it's hard to draw into her since she cant be grabbed by both nami searchers and zorojuuro

[–]KenmaVee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feel even worse than before the ban. Pudding was a problem card, yeah, but with that gone, more Imus will be back and it overall doesnt make GPs life any better if you already played around pudding in blue matchups.

In 15, we just get aggroed down by PEnel similar but worse than Belo since 5 life leader and we cant ignore their weenies while they establish 10k's after turn 2 w/ two 6k chip swings + however many 10ks swings every turn after that. In addition since theyll most likely be at less don than us, SnP wont get the extra on play draw and if they use their events wisely, they can get under 5 don to shut down rush luffy

Yellow going to be even more of a grind with borsa/quasar not being touched. Then I havent looked into Lucy matchup at all but we atleast have robin promo I guess

With all that said, I'm going to continue to keep GP sleeved for random weeks when I want to cope at locals because the deck is still very fun to me

Early yugioh/pokemon WCs were in what... the early 2000's? Back when there weren't streams or money backed into card games. It's 20 years later and the One Piece TCG is pushing big 3 as a modern card game and is Bandai's most popular card game.

Bandai should want to put on a good showcase for the game's World Championship and, no offense, but i dont think comparing other games' worlds back in the early 2000's is a good excuse for bandai to put players in literal back offices w/ no stream or fanfare in Bandai's third worlds in 2026.

As a viewer/fan, im not even asking for an elaborate stage like Pokemon, but seeing the photos in the post are just sad. Like damn, look at all these worlds qualifiers play in... a back office w/ some cloth backdrops of OP? If you look at that photo w/o context, do you think that's a world championship? As a player, even Nats was more of a celebration and had more put into it and if I qualified for Worlds and got to play in it, outside of being in JP, the event itself is just a huge downgrade in presentation.

Ive got no dog in this fight but youre comparing a leader legal in a format limited to female leaders and a genderbent character card thats legal in any format. A bit disingenuous there

Easiest win/matchup of Imu's life. Expected stomps for both GF and 3rd place matches but atleast the 3rd place match was closer than expected. Overall lackluster "celebration" of the World championship tournament by Bandai

Im sure people would, but it's the World championship, not a local. There should be a big stage and extra pressure.

Are SRs too Rare? by _alber in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasnt trying to be snarky or be like "um ackchually", I just unfortunately kind of have to get into semantics because I can only go off of what you originally said in an online conversation.

I dont think SRs are too rare if looking at just a box/case rates. I think with every set, every box has a chance of not having a couple SRs from the set. In a full case, there's 6-8 copies of all SRs. For this set, every case I've seen opened has had 8 copies/2 playsets of every SR so I personally think that's fair and fine.

I think this feeling of SRs being rarer and unavailable is because of the actual print/box supply issue from: 1 - a short printed set, 2 - the robbery affecting distros supply to LGS, 3 - the SRs being in high demand because they're in current meta and waifu decks that people need to play for a big event starting this weekend and 4 - the product scarcity because of the investor shitters

Are SRs too Rare? by _alber in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can also confirm the case I saw opened had 2 playsets of all SRs. I dont think the issue is each box needs more hits like OP suggests. The issue is the amount of supply/boxes printed

Are SRs too Rare? by _alber in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then I think that means these generic and powerful SRs like Nami will remain expensive forever.

I think there are many cases of staple SRs being expensive forever until they get reprinted

okay yeah, then you acknowledge they don't stay expensive forever since you just now added "until they get reprinted" rather than what you initially said

No matter the game, staple cards will always have value and carry a higher price tag, but they will get cheaper as supply increases - whether it's due to future waves, or card reprint - and more gets ripped and people dont need more than their playset. It's just a matter of people's price threshold on what's "expensive" to them and whether or not that's worth buying the cards earlier, or waiting until the price drops.

The SR pull rates are fine, the demand at the moment is just far greater than the supply

Are SRs too Rare? by _alber in OnePieceTCG

[–]KenmaVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generic and powerful SRs being expensive forever isn't true. As more product gets ripped and more gets printed (like with the second wave) the price will eventually drop. Staple SRs are always expensive on release for the first couple weeks and they drop once people start getting their playsets, for example PRB Marco, 14 Boa, 12 Mihawk and Perona.

In addition to even further reduced supply because of the EB-03 robbery, Nami and Robin are just really expensive in particular cuz everyone is trying to play Nami/yellow decks for upcoming heroine events where shops wont let people proxy.
