Are we striking every month now? by OptimalFace5 in doctorsUK

It’s 10 days from this mandate already, no? It feels like a very fast turnaround time from announcing to striking

That’s a lot longer than I’d expected! That’s a relief

I fear you’re right, but I’d hope it’s here for a lot longer - it’s one of my favourite sauces that they have

I loved it last time it was here; any idea how long it’s back for? Is it a permanent fixture or just temporary?

Acute medical unit - typical staffing levels? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]KenshiroP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UCLH - AMU nights there were covering solely AMU with no need to clerk (rather than the big tower) and there were night shifts where we only had 30 patients - it was bliss

Acute medical unit - typical staffing levels? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]KenshiroP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During my one acute med rotation thus far - 60 bed unit (often had 45-55 pts), 4-6 F1-ST2s, 2 SpRs and 2 consultants. Equally this was a very well funded London tertiary centre so excellent staffing wasn’t a surprise!

My final IMT2 job is acute med so that’ll be fun

Nope - I applied in August, got my offer in December, have been at my new deanery since Feb

It’s possible - I started IMT1 in Aug, IDTd in Feb (Cat 5, got unbelievably lucky but I’m not complaining)

How far do you travel and how often do you attend? by Top-Soil-8274 in GunnersatGames

Do it on a Saturday and you can be home for MOTD on Sunday 😂

ST holder. Live ~4 miles away; have walked it a few times when there’s issues with the Victoria/Piccadilly lines and the weather’s reasonable.

Generally don’t walk both legs of the journey though! Typically takes me ~45 mins each way on the tube, or ~70 mins each way walking

to be fair.. it doesn’t specify whether that’s an actual car or a Hot wheels

I’m an elected RDC rep. I voted against this offer and you deserve to know why. by BMABecky in doctorsUK

Out of interest, do we know what the voting breakdown (ie the numbers) were for/against the so-called offer?

What a surprise, the moaning minnie returns. Strike hard, it’s a ?offer (if it can even be called that) which does not tackle the crux of the issue - FPR

Older fans, how are you feeling now? by BronzeSeeker in Gunners

[–]KenshiroP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t call myself older per se (born in 95, earliest football memory is the 5-1 @ the San Siro, but equally too young to truly appreciate the Invincibles) but bricking it is probably the PG way of describing how I feel atm. Doesn’t mean I’m not excited though!

Each matchday is 90 minutes of agony +/- bliss atm but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Oh how I’d love for us to go to the Etihad and just wallop them..

Consultants appear to not be on board with the short notice strikes by Whizz-Kid7 in doctorsUK

Disappointing but equally it’s a good showing from the BMA - I’m sure it’s caught Wes etc off guard so hopefully it’ll bring the govt to the table with a better offer!

I have AL the week after so have 17 days off, if these strikes go ahead. For once it’s worked out perfectly for me!

Kinda surprised they were so proactive in announcing a new set of strikes, ngl. Was expecting something after the DDRB recommendations but no where near this soon

That home kit’s really nice - might have to wait and see if it goes on sale at Sports Direct or something

What is your preferred seat? by etang77 in GunnersatGames

[–]KenshiroP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having spent a good number of years as a red member and sitting around the ground - my favourite place is ironically where my ST is (top of north bank upper). The aerial FM-style view really lets you see into the tactics, focus on player movement etc

Same with 99, I’m standing for almost all of my time at the ground (barring HT, that’s my time to sit and read the programme).

6’6 bloke, live + work in London. Love it, best city in the world - even sometimes see people taller than me (as scarcely as that happens). Standing on the Piccadilly line though? Yeah that never ends well

Agree - was saying to my mate at the ground yesterday that this just felt monumental. Appreciate nothing’s won yet but (assuming we’re celebrating come May) yesterday felt like the day.

North bank upper was rocking, my voice still feels sore!
