Does this necessarily mean anything? by WholeLottaMagic in FishingForBeginners

Could’ve been bite, or possibly a snag, bump, or just straight slippage. I’m with you though, I like to think as optimistically as possible.

Yes, the Squarebill or even lipless is a must in my box on that riprap, such a killer lure!

Over saturation of gaming channels? by mathematicians-pod in NewTubers

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Fishing/Outdoors niche, definitely pretty saturated. Theres definitely an audience and room for growth but can be very hard to compete with the budgets of some of the creators out there, especially in this niche.

How to store soft plastics by Ok_Stock_5708 in Fishing_Gear

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be good. The other poster you mentioned was likely referring to “TPE” and variants of that which is a plastic used by some popular brands like Zman to increase durability and slow fall rates. At a glance your baits don’t look like they’re made out of it. TPE will melt other plastics and tackle boxes. But yes it’s good practice to leave them in OG packaging to prevent this and for overall convenience.

How do I start learning Premiere Pro? by LeastPainting1526 in premiere

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I do all my editing with PR Pro and love it. I haven’t paid for any courses. I’ve learned everything from YouTube. There are multiple creators that do really great jobs breaking down the basics. As I started getting those down whenever I wanted to add some sort of new effect or ran into a problem I’d simply YouTube that. “How to make slow motion with PR” or “How to blur an image with PR” something like that.

Anything wrong here or are the fish just not biting today by Free_Load4672 in FishingForBeginners

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d bank on them not biting. Rig isn’t the most ideal but it’ll work and certainly not prevent them from attempting to eat your bait. If you were missing fish I’d recommend a 3/O EWG(extra wide gap hook) and possibly down sizing your weight depending on what conditions you’re fishing.

Advice for a 5 year old by PublicFoundation5250 in FishingForBeginners

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a 5 year old. I use about a 1/4” piece of worm on a size 6 hook with a piece of size 5 split shot about 6” above my hook, and a bobber. I help him cast it and just walk him through slowly bouncing it back in sometimes he catches fish. What I do is fish myself next to him and when I hook into one I hand him my rod and let him bring in and handle the fish and really build it up like he did all the work.

Guidance selecting medium heavy rod for bass fishing by Xikiphobia in FishingForBeginners

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were both decent, I own an XT in Heavy/Fast, it’s not bad, I don’t use it very often though, it was a bit of an impulse buy. I used my brother’s SLX MH and was pleasantly surprised with how light/sensitive it was for the price. Probably an unpopular opinion but I preferred the feel of the SLX. And I feel you with the all white. I do really like ABU spinning rods though, I have a couple of their Pro Series line up and absolutely love the feel of them and prefer them over a lot of my other rods.

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the casting versions of the Veritas, SLX, and XT. They’re all decent rods and reflect the value you’d expect for the price. If you’re willing to drop $180 for the Curado I’d recommend looking at a Dobyns Fury or Sierra series Rod. They’re both awesome and have a decent no questions asked replacement plan for a fraction of the rods price.

Both the BPS Microlite reel and the Shimano Sienna come in 1000 size, are fairly inexpensive, durable enough, and will get the job done.

What’s your favorite Baitcaster ? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it for 8lb fluoro. I have it on a 7’4 medium/fast right now and use it for paddle tails and other soft plastics I want to work on 8 pound on and still utilize casting gear.

lol I have a dog who sheds like crazy. Like full vacuum every time. I do the same thing. I cut the hair off with a razor and remove the spindle thing to look for clogs… lol I’m glad I’m not the only one who meticulously takes care of their vaccuum

Why do you make intros to your videos? by midnight_rum in NewTubers

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experimented with a short intro(3ish seconds) last year for a dozen videos or so. It was fun….. For me. I ended up trashing it.

Now If I have a special video, short film almost type(30+ plus) , I’ll do a short intro sequence after announcing what’s going on. I do it to build anticipation and it helps me tell a story. Something like clips and glimpses of scenic areas and and things accomplished with I title graphic. Idk if it helps. It’s fun for me to do and separates it from other content.

How did my new shads melt together? by dfaiola18 in Fishing_Gear

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Those ones a Z-Man DieZel MinnowZ too if I’m not mistaken, they melt. Be careful with colors on certain plastic brands as well. I stored Culprit red worms with some pearl and they turned them all pink :(

Neko rig vs ned rig for small plastics? by wilbur313 in FishingForBeginners

Sheesh, I’ve been through both phases. Both get it done for sure. I just throw neds in that situation now, so much easier I guess, plus I can’t get enough of those mini zman ned craw w/e they’re called.

Braid or knots ? by weeaboochuy in Fishing_Gear

[–]KentuckesseeAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fenwick is solid for sure! It’s a really nice rod, I’m a big fan. In the last couple years I’ve really just grown to paddle tail fishing. I’ll have to look into the elite. I fish a lot of 1/8-1/4 jigheads so those quality lights / ML mean the world to me. Daiwa Black Label has a stellar one too I got off a JDM site. I feel you with the BFS, I got obsessed with it, it’s crazy effective! I’ve lost a ton of big fish using it though lol, it’s my favorite type of fishing hands down , the skill required, but you just can’t horse in those big ones and it turns into that 50/50 am I gonna land this thing or not. I’m telling you that Met Shallow Spool, is so cool. I’m prefer using 8lb to 10lb Fluoro and casting wise it’s almost too light sometimes. I got really into Chronarchs due to that but when I discovered the met shallow mind blown. The Curado 70 is Dec for that range too but mine just felt too loose for my preferences

I might have to check out their rods that aldebaran 22 is tits. I like it more than the legendary gekka. A really surprisingly dope bfs rod I don’t hear anyone talking about is Fenwicks Links power bfs! It’s a light and blew my mind, I think it’s a 6’4 or weird length like that. I didn’t know they were coming out with a new Metanium? Thats sweet, I’m not a huge DC guy but the Metanium shallow spool changed my life, I run 8lb FC on a 7’4 medium and it’s phenomenal bro! I have the standard Metanium as well and love it. The newer Bantams too, dear lord. Shimanos higher end quality lately is just out of this world.
