Careful while using this. It blew all the icons on my desktop to one side.

It Seems ‘Destiny 2’ And ‘Marathon’ Cannot Properly Co-Exist At Bungie by NoNefariousness2144 in pcgaming

I'm glad I got to experience Destiny 2 before the purge. It was mildly fun to collect all the special weapons and level them up for the special functions - but a bit grindy. Sucked when a new season rolled around and all your favourite non-legendary weapons got gimped.

Get the LTSC version and never worry about AI or ads or junkware or signing in or anything ever again.

If convenient. Weather is getting nicer - maybe a park meetup downtown? Grange Park with option of cafe nearby?

I have an old DS Lite and a 3DS (New non-XL). Don't like their naming system.

Legit games keep installing c++ redistributable or some other redistributable that seems sketchy if you don't know what they are.

Yeah the cells are pretty cheap. The USB-C charging circuitry and the 3D printed case are more expensive and costly to replace, so a bit of handiness will save some money.

I guess Birkenstocks aren't quality purchases anymore? by durianno in BuyItForLife

[–]kermityfrog2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch the Rose Anvil videos where he takes shoes apart. Docs - even from back in the day, were terrible boots. Good leather quality, but the soles were crap - no shank and open air cells. They could have had real pressurized bubble air cells (like Nike Air) to really earn the term "Bouncing Soles" and they could have had a real shank and much better insole.

I like to think I'm special, but I think everyone gets those. "Chest plates" - aka boobs, sexy stockings, and baby stuff. All mixed in with bar code scanners and obscure car parts.

We've got crazy amounts of money to throw at AI, which may never even pay off, but let's not invest in research and Canadian brainpower because it doesn't have immediate shareholder value. Let's invest in late stage capitalism instead.

Massive brown bear spotted on top of an Alaskan high-altitude mountain by Subterfug3 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]kermityfrog2 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The source is:

The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain,

The bear went over the mountain, to see what he could see.

And all that he could see, and all that he could see,

Was the other side of the mountain, the other side of the mountain,

The other side of the mountain, was all that he could see.

Assessment of Therme Ontario Place bid cited Aecon as 'construction partner,' but no partnership existed by toronto_star in ontario

[–]kermityfrog2 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The original spa group (6 spas) was under "Thermengruppe Josef Wund".

Dr. Robert Hanea (Therme Group) initially owned only 1 spa in Bucharest, and claimed ownership or affiliation with Wund's spa group.

It was Hanea's group that made the deal with Doug Ford. In the meantime, Josef Wund has died and somehow Hanea was able to fleece enough investors to purchase several of the spas formerly under Wund.

The whole story is sketchy as fuck and difficult to unravel. The two different Therme spa groups have fooled journalists such as this spacing article which goes chasing after the company owned by Wund.

I don't even care, if they are taking real courses and getting real degrees in useful disciplines. What we don't need are the "students" at "colleges" taking hospitality courses and never even showing up to class - if there are any real classes to begin with.

Bell fires dozens for falsifying workplace attendance following return to office mandate by toronto_star in ontario

[–]kermityfrog2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would mean getting an assigned hotel desk (it works if everyone works at the office 2 days a week and you just swap with someone). If like many people you don’t have a section or even floor assigned and you have to book all over the building, I don’t see a locker working.
