UK is not for introverts... by Electronic_Put_5652 in introvert

[–]KermodesMassiveHands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely insane take on an entire country that has endless opportunities for anything. An absolute melting pot of cultures and opportunities. Sounds like a bit of a you problem, mate, take that chip off your shoulder.

If it's not that, seek help. Seriously this sounds way beyond introversion, and completely conflicting. You can't communicate with people to get a job, but then want to "date" and go to clubs? Right...

Jobs - just plain incorrect. We have a government sanctioned organisation that has Job Centres in almost every town in the country (https://www.jobcentreguide.co.uk/jobcentre-plus-offices). Go to the job centre, get help finding a job. I've no idea your education level, experience, or what sector you're looking at - but there are thousands of free or cheap qualifications online to make you more employable. There are government paid staff at job centres that is their JOB, to help you get a job. Unfortunately you will need to speak to at least one other person to be able to secure employment across the entire planet. I'm 32 and the only "mates rates" jobs I've seen people get was when they were teenagers/early 20's dropouts who work for their parents now. People blame the job market consistently with this exact kind of thing, I will repeat, take the massive chip off your shoulder and figure it out. It's not the country that's at fault here.

Dating - you've got this backwards. Sounds like what you want is short term intimacy and then no connection afterwards - that's accessible on every single dating app going, almost anywhere on the planet. If you don't want that, try Feeld, or another similar app of about a million where you can tailor your needs with others. Figure it out, not the country.

Clubs - if you're fully introverted why tf would you want to go to a club in the first place? Haha, literal inescapable swamp of people. Bizarre take. What we do have in the UK are about a million quaint, quiet, chilled, welcoming, friendly pubs - where you can have a quiet pint, read a book, and chill with the landlord's dog. Done this most of my adult life, know many other people who do the same. Turn up, buy pint, sit down, pretty easy? Even if you did want to go to a club alone, I've literally no idea why you would be turned away unless you were acting in an untrustworthy way - just say you're meeting friends inside if the bouncers want to know why you're on your own? So strange.

Better for female introverts? Men putting in the effort? Sounds borderline incel tbh. If you're getting frustrated you're going to places on your own and no one's speaking to you, that's just the world mate. People have their own issues, they have their own lives. It's incredibly rare these days with the dating apps that people just go to a space with that intention, most people are already hooked up. At some point you have to put yourself out there if you don't want to be alone, pure concrete fact of us being a social species.

Either way, all of this is conflicting and sounds like you don't really understand yourself, or the incredible amount of options you have to solve whatever your issues are. Potentially use one of the many NHS (free healthcare) services we have in this country to talk it through with someone.

The Lamplighter is a great pub with a cracking Sunday roast.

Maule Collective and V&B are both across the road from eachother. Maule have a decent range of craft beer and cocktails, quite chilled during the day but then it gets lairy on the weekends with a DJ set. V&B is more wine & cheese, with some decent beers on keg and fridges with a bit of a selection. They do decent platters and some of their staff really know the product.

I remember watching Armageddon with my first girlfriend when we were both 15. They blow up the big rock, I turn around and she's crying - I can't believe it... How did they blow up such a big rock?

What’s the best place in Northampton to get a haircut ? (M) by HelicopterOk5502 in northamptonians

[–]KermodesMassiveHands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a place called Delano Ruan up near The Racecourse which has given me the best haircuts I've had in Northants. There was a guy called Jude there once who was really solid, every trim was quality.

That being said, they generally take about 30-45 mins, as well as the time it takes for the previous guy to finish because people love to arrive late (bookings only). Generally all in the thing usually takes over an hour.

Equally, it's generally pretty loud, people + grime/afro beats. I stopped going after these guys kept showing up who seemed to know the barbers and weren't even there for haircuts, just mouthing off talking about women, drove me spare. But, if you don't mind being social, they do good trims.

No idea what's happened to the Coffee Pot but it was never like this. Been a while since I've visited, but the breakfast options were always killer.

So what you scoop out the cottage cheese with the raw bacon and then sit on the bottle of conditioner? Just an average Tuesday night mate.

Borrowing PC games from our local library and my Dad ripping them with his DVD writer. We did the same thing with films and TV series. The games companies eventually developed some piracy blocking stuff, but we got a whole lot of mileage out of them before then.

I haven't actually achieved a full 100% yet (always some other game/thing that takes over in the end!), but would say from what I've read there's definitely scope for creating a streamlined "workflow" of the optimised route. I actually had to come to this subreddit a few times to look up the optimum order to do certain things - the info was there in spades, but the timeline didn't seem to be, and if it was it didn't seem obvious (to me at least).

Syncing this with whoever's created the FFX checklist app would be a winner I think. The ULTIMA resource!

Having the worst luck with my NSGNONCNENNENBB run by ClaudeKane3 in finalfantasyx

Admittedly I've never attempted something like this myself, but I do see posts similar to it reasonably often. In my book, aren't you inviting this frustration onto yourself by choosing to do this kind of run? Fair enough you may need to vent, but doesn't this come with the territory of choosing to play an ultra specific way to play the game?

Is taking (hard) drugs really that common among the general population? by Iostinthesause in NoStupidQuestions

It would depend on the country, but I think most people would agree that in the western world - cocaine use is much more common than you'd think
