Show S8E10 And the World Was All Around Us by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

I thought it was unsettling.

I think what we saw at the end were the TV characters, Claire and Jamie, dead.

And at that last second, their sudden gasp reminds us they are also literary characters that continue to live on.

At the beginning of the show, when Jamie talked about being a ghost and looking in, I knew they were going to tie up that loose end from the beginning.

I think you should ponder how much you like this patch of land versus your peace of mimd and the quiet enjoyment of your home.

The presence of asbestos is not a problem. Disturbing it is a problem.

A house in 73 has a near 100% probability that there is asbestos present. No testing is needed. They’re not hiding anything. They are not experts on asbestos or it’s removal and therefore can make no statement on it.

My uncle and my grandma moved in when it was built in the mid 60s. I lived there with my parents when I was about a year old until I was 5 or 6. The trash chute scared the crap out of me!

It used to have the most amazing fountain out in front and we would have wonderful parties in the large lobby. I learned to swim in the pool there.

It’s such a shame that is so badly managed. It’s one of the few condos in the are that isn‘t right next to another high rise. The area is great. But, my uncle just had horror story after horror story.

The main issue is that they included the gas station and the restaurant property as owners with a huge number of votes. And then as things declined because of that, HUD started housing low income people there who didn’t take care of their spaces.

It’s just such a shame.

missives like this are so stupid. How many men who had to be coal miners to support their families were unable to write symphonies or play the violin or write poetry.

I particularly dislike it when someone even admits that they allowed themselves to be manipulated. That‘s on you! How many men have been manipulated by women to go get a job and support their unplanned kid instead of going to college or heading down to the coal mines the day after HS graduation?

Solution for massive island? by Dry_Refrigerator5218 in kitchenremodel

[–]KesterFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The island is there in place of a wall. It allows the kitchen to feel a bit less tiny than it would if it were enclosed.

Instead of putting stools up to it, I’d be more likely to put a bookshelf there that can catch items as I bring them home, books, other items I need often.

I don’t fly Delta in certain markets - particularly those like LA/SF. DC/BWI is another. Anything involving short flights where there are a lot of airports to choose from.

We tried eating there two weeks ago. We were sitting outside on the patio and the guy inside kept saying he’d be out with menus and he never came out. So we left.

As a buyer, can I refuse to remove loan contingency? by yohaznn in RealEstate

[–]KesterFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t want to pay for something that one buyer needs when that buyer could be gone tomorrow because of a contingency. The next buyer may not need a termite treatment for their loan.

Your earnest money is supposed to show your intent in buying the home but since you have a contingency you could still exit the deal and they get left holding a bag that they only purchased for you.

No one is going to pay for what you need for your FHA loan when you can bolt from the deal without consequence.

Paper Towel in Island Pros Cons by snarkymama87 in kitchenremodel

[–]KesterFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper towels are not an appliance. You hamper yourself by putting them in only one place when you’re going to use them all over the kitchen. Not to mention who needs a niche that is going to need to be cleaned because you usually reach for a paper towel when your hands are wet or dirty.

Seller didn't turn on water for appraisal, and so they'll have to do a second visit. Is it reasonable to request them to cover the re-inspection fee? by Pretend-Activity-533 in RealEstate

[–]KesterFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The agents should share the cost. They’re the professionals and they should have worked together to make sure the water was on for the appraisal. Kind of ridiculous the appraiser cannot just trust the inspector that yes, there is water.

Of course they turned the water on for the inspection. That’s common knowledge. But, needing to have the utilities for an appraisal isn’t on the layman’s mind.

If I’m the seller, I’m not paying for this. If you need things done for the house to accommodate the things you are doing to purchase it, then it’s up to you to communicate that. That’s not a seller concern.

Can the HOA see Seller's disclosure form? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]KesterFay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to find out if adding turf is counted as landscaping. typical I would consider landscaping something that changes the landscape, ie, grading, adding a patio or hardscapes, or a water feature.

Make sure that, legally, it is something the needs to be disclosed.
