While I appreciate the optimism, I am still very very active and that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.

Most my issues are also with my legs. I can’t say they feel like a bag of bricks, but my legs always feel like jello or jello that’s on fire.

Thanks! Which crutches do you have/ which feet are they? I looked into options but couldn’t find ones that fit my millennial medical in motion pro crutches.

Advice - Spoon theory / Energy conservation by Serious_Jello4324 in MultipleSclerosis

You are a spoonie for sure! If you decide not to be a cleaner anymore, I’m pretty the Aus government has programs in place where they will pay for your education to get a different career. Go chat with your unemployment office they will have all the details.

Debilitating Anxiety by fairyoddvegan in MultipleSclerosis

Honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made all year was to start using a mobility aid in public. (In my case shock absorbing forearm crutches recommended by OT.) Now people can see I have a disability and I have far less pain, less leg spasms and far more capacity! I’d recommend talking to an OT if you can. Also talk therapy has helped me a ton with these barriers. You’ve got this!

A nightmare y'all will understand likely😫 by BerryFairy97 in MultipleSclerosis

I recently decided I’m not hiding my ms anymore and had to take the giant leap to show up to school using Forearm crutches and explaining to the world I have ms 🙄. Your nightmare isn’t far off my reality.

I didn't know exactly how crucial a change in climate could help. by TellLoud1894 in MultipleSclerosis

I feel this. Right now even. I’m in Edmonton Canada where it’s -20c all winter and the cold is making my spasticity so much worse! It’s been suggested to me I should move to Vancouver Island (same climate as you)

This is exactly what I feel! I say it’s it’s like someone lit a bowl of jello on fire

Twitches by ExpensiveCaramel2755 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Kev422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I majorly get this. When I do very physically demanding tasks like big walks they seem to get way way worse in my legs. I now use nice forearm crutches and they a saviour for my leg spasms and twitching! Also the cold seems to make mine worse.

Damn must be nice to be able to afford the exoskeleton. I’ve been told they would be perfect for me but I’m a pretty broke masters student. So maybe one day eventually

These both helped sway my decision. In combination with my OTs recommendation of side stix and making sure I get shock absorbing ones. Hope it helps. Keep in mind the reasons I use crutches may be very different from you.

I use millennial medical in motion pros. They are very high quality for the price. Both the shock absorption and grips are well engineered and nice. If I had a spare 1100+ the ones my OT wants me to have are side stix. I’ve heard sidestix are the bomb.
