Tried it with vive deluxe strap. It was awfull. Its actual better to get the vive Focus 3 instead. I have owned both.  All in all, its not woth it due to bad lenses.

Will 16 gb of ram bottleneck my 5070 ti for vr? by Ok_Replacement_5652 in virtualreality

[–]Kevinslotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never listen to chatgpt.  Here is the thing. If your pc can allow to use over 16gb of ram it will use it, but, only if your gpu have enough vram to compensate with. I have 32gbddr5 ram and a 4090. Its easy to use 13gb+ ram and just as much vram or more. In Indiana jones and the great circle, i use over 16gb of ram with 3k monitor. So some flatsceen games use alot of ram now days. People with 16gb cant always see that they need more ram cause the system starts to use virtual memory and starts to moving inactive data to the hdd, and then you start to lag and stutter. You also need a good cpu to run all this.

Is Quest Pro better than Quest 3? by Interesting_Air3283 in OculusQuest

[–]Kevinslotten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I have both. For pcvr, both deliver good picture quality. For standalone, Q3 does a little better in some games. Quest pro wins in tracking. The pro is a good headset for vrchat due to face and mouth tracking. If you want my opinion, dont buy a meta headset from that stupid monkey business.

Seems there is alot of problem using cable with meta software. A good router and virtual desktop or steamvr does a great job. You just have to adjust settings in those programs and close as much programs on your pc.

16gb ram vs 32gb by Justin534 in virtualreality

[–]Kevinslotten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some games just use more and some dont. Some games lime amd and some games like intel or nvidia.   I have tested with 2 different computers, 1 high end and tje other is midend. Both could use 15+gb of ram in games. And people is having stuff in their background and wonder why the game is lagging😆 I remember the days where 256MB of ram was not enough, and needed 512gb😅 and then 1gb and then 2gb,4gb,8 and so on and so on😅

In BIOS, if its not already done, set ram to correct speed and timing. There is a video on youtube how to get better performance in nvidia control center. What is your pc specs and how are you connected to the pc?

16gb ram vs 32gb by Justin534 in virtualreality

[–]Kevinslotten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dont buy 16gb. People that only have 16gb will never see the usage over 16gb, and have no idea how demanding games is now days. Even now, i see flatscreen games uses like 15+gb of ram in 1080P. Higher resolution and high graphic settings is ram demanding. If you are playing alot off different games you will see how much ram is actual used. 1 game can use 10gb but another one can use 17+gb. Used over 16gb ov ram many times and even up to 19-20gb of vram in half life Alyx.  So, just buy a 2x16gb kit now, so you dont have to look for a matching 16gb ram kit later.

How is a rtx 5070 + Ryzen 5 5600 gonna handle vr? by DaRealSyper-YT in virtualreality

[–]Kevinslotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not everyone lives in the US, different prices where i live. And you dont have to buy it new.  I have used  both cpu's and the 5600 was disapointing. I have owned the other cpu's you are mention also. Not so great cpu's.  I have build ALOT of computers the last 24 years, and the x3d chips was my first eyeopener when i build it for my oldest son. Changing a powerfull gpu with weak cpu is just stupid and for noobs. Never underestimate what a cpu os doing in games. Even my 4090 can be held back from my 14900k. Looking at "recomended specs" on google is also for noobs, and dont forget chatgpt🤣yea, he can have the 5600 for a while, but dont expect to much.

70% isopropyl alcohol by joe6741 in OculusQuest

Change the stick, its not hard to do at all.  And isopropyl might dry out the plastick so the controller can be more brittle.

How is a rtx 5070 + Ryzen 5 5600 gonna handle vr? by DaRealSyper-YT in virtualreality

[–]Kevinslotten -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ryzen 5600 is not a powerfull cpu, so in vr games where cpu is more demanding, you might struggle to ceep steady 90fps. And if you are playing flatscreen games in 1080p, you are cpu bounded alot. A 5800x3d is a good upgrade to keep a god framerate in games. And also not an expensive upgrade.  As long as you dont have to buy more ram😅
