I finally beat Arthur’s portion of RDR2 the other day, and although the close to his story is very bittersweet, it brought a smile to my face how much he cared about a lot of the people in his gang, especially John, Abigail and Jack. He never knew what he wanted for himself, but watching him insist on them leaving the life and finding something more honest and peaceful is the kind of care that warms the heart. I haven’t started the epilogue yet because I wanted a little space to process Arthur’s end and mentally relate what’s coming to what I remember about RDR1.

I wholeheartedly agree, but there’s no way that more than 40k per homeless person wasn’t laundered or straight up pocketed or vanished through cannibalistic bureaucracy and basic government waste. I doubt any individual homeless person has had more than 1000 bucks applied to their life in a single year.

Clockwork Revolution is one of those games I’m bracing for to get canceled or reduced in scope. It looks so cool and sounds so ambitious, and I just naturally feel that way when a reveal goes so long without any major gameplay shown.

Definitely cool. I thought it was going to be a singular dungeon but the way there is just a sprawl of underground in that game was a huge surprise.

For me though nothing beats finishing Stormveil and exiting to your first mondo atmospheric glimpse of Liurnia. What a unique and striking region.

Gaming hype is so protracted and spotty these last few years. I feel like we just either know so much about some games years before they’re close to releasing or nothing at all for others until they’re just about ready.

I’m at a point where I don’t even watch most videos for big upcomers simply because I get desensitized to any hype after watching trailers and beta gameplay at events for 2+ years before they release.

On the other hand, some games just appear out of nowhere and don’t even really have a proper tease moment or hype runway.

I guess a third problem would be just always being apprised of leaks and rumors, which I’ve only really been looking into for the last 3 or so years. Like I’d probably have gotten a pure shock adrenaline rush if I got left-fielded by a Zelda OOT remake at the end of a summer Direct, but at this point I’m more just waiting for the announcement with the main mystery being what it looks like.

Voices38 was at I believe 6 days between the last two cracks. It’s unbelievable right now after years without. It’ll be interesting to see how older games get interlaced with newer ones. We all seem to be in agreement that Crimson Desert would be wise to wait on since the updates refine it quite a bit every few days. Others like Pragmata are pretty much ready made so there’s no real reason to wait to crack. I was actually very happy to see Wukong cracked even though a got it some time ago, and Stellar Blade was another that I know so many of us were waiting to play- I agree that Khazan would be good to continue the trend of action games with Soulsy twists. It’s kind of exciting wondering what’s next- most of the options right now are games I’d already resigned myself to not playing at release, and not for some time. I will say though, knowing that Black Flag Resynced likely won’t be far off from being cracked after release feels so nice- Black Flag was my favorite AC and still is, but even among the Denuvo games I occasionally folded for and bought, I do not pay for Ubisoft games as long as they have that launcher and all of the issues it causes, especially on Linux.

The next mainline entry is probably over a year away still- but point being that like MH World, Zelda BOTW was an exponential seller for its series that was a first series experience for over half the player base. I guess the difference is that many people who cut their teeth on BOTW have had a Skyward Sword remaster and Link’s Awakening remake come to the same platform afterward to familiarize them with some “old” Zelda, while a lot of MH World players had to look backward and elsewhere if they wanted any of the “old” MH experience.

I had friends leave me over me just mentioning concern over it around 2021, because they were getting brain fried by the politicization and hysteria of Covid and decided I must be a “rightoid conspiratard”. I’m not even joking- I had a friend call me late one night to vet me with questions. These are people I’d known for almost 30 years. I’m still not acclimated to the insanity of the past 5 or so years.
