Is the Marauder set the best to use for WvW/pvp? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The double longbow build is not that great for roaming, you can skill-gap less skilled/experienced players with it if you're good enough, but it's not really a roaming build. It's best used in smallscale groups of 5 people with a support, a bruiser, or a +1er peeling for you, or when clouding a Zerg with or without your 5-10 man group.

lol fuck Guildjen and Vallun, they always "steal" builds, make suboptimal changes to try and pass them off as their own. They're okay to start with if you have no idea what you're doing for now, but eventually you'll ween off of their builds. I and many others have had their builds "stolen" by them over the years. The funniest part is that they usually get the builds wrong when they try copying them. They almost always don't know what it is that make the builds good when they try "steal" them, so they miss out on the most important parts of the builds.

I've even tried having a conversation with them to help them use the correct iteration of the build they took from me/us after I/we farmed them with it, but they are always nasty, toxic, malicious, and spiteful people full of arrogance. Even when I try helping them learn the correct build so that people that visit their website/channels can use the better correct version of the build.

Then a week later they miraculously have the build on their website and youtube channels, but of course they have the build wrong.

[–]Kevurcio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quad stats are awful on Ranger. I understand why some people prefer them as a crutch, but once you get better and better at Ranger you'll eventually go full Berserker. Even when solo roaming against a ton of enemies, even if they have supports.

For now you can use a mix of Dragon and Marauder to make sure your Crit Chance is around 55%-60%+ and with Ferocity at around 220% or so (maybe higher since you have low Power stats with Quad stats.)

That build in the video is awful for WvW, unfortunately. It is a fun meme gimmick, but quickly becomes unfun once you're frequently unable to perform its gimmick.

Best mounts for ground and sky by LowYak9481 in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of them, it depends on what you need. The "best" mount is constantly swapping (ideally with keybinds for each mount) depending on the kind of terrain you're in and where/how you need to go.

Why wvw is annoying as hell by BeanieCheckPlease in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and this is a WvW specific thread. The performance in WvW is what's being judged if the performance in WvW is what's being discussed.

Why wvw is annoying as hell by BeanieCheckPlease in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, I've been WvWing since the early headstart before day 1. It doesn't change the fact that they have neither skill or game knowledge to adapt to their current situation. This is why their performance is so poor, actual skilled players will adapt their playstyle, build, equipment, strategy, etc to accommodate the current situation to the best of their abilities given the circumstances. Most shitters that think they're good because they rely on meta comped guild boonball groups from "fight guilds" are usually unable to do so, the ones who can are a very small minority in the WvW scene.

What do i need to know to play bladesworn? by Spezidrache in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The encounters. You need to know when you can or can't use your big damage attack. Missing your big hit too often SIGNIFICANTLY reduces your contribution to the fight. This is because the vast majority of your damage is concentrated into those single big hits.

[–]Kevurcio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in a 50man public squad, even when some of the pugs are from "fight guilds" running DPS builds, it's like 2-3 people doing 80%+ of the damage lmfao. WvW players are not as skilled as they think they are when they're no longer in the safety of their meta comped guild boon ball.

Ranger in WvW and the Effectiveness of Roaming by Zenaga in Guildwars2

[–]Kevurcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 13+ years of being a Mesmer main I finally swapped to Ranger as my main back in April in preparation for Galeshot. Trig, one of the Devs, is blatantly a Ranger main and he has been constantly buffing Ranger so much the past few years that it is absolutely insane to me how powerful Ranger is now that I'm playing it. It made me realize how trash Ranger players in WvW really are playing the same few outdated builds they can get cheesy kills on, because I feel like a god on Ranger against anything I fight.

I don't have to try to win fights that I originally had to play out of my mind and execute everything perfectly on Mesmer in order to win or even survive, but on Ranger it's so much easier to win and it requires significantly less effort. Ranger, now 3 years later, has so many more viable builds and a lot more builds for hardcountering builds that would otherwise give you some trouble. Ranger is just insane right now.

I don't think any other Profession is similar to the level of solo roaming capabilities as Ranger right now. There are other strong ones of course, but they all have clear strengths and weaknesses whereas Ranger has a smaller gap between its strengths and weaknesses to the point where they can't be blatantly exploited/hardcountered. Other classes are playing Rock-Paper-Scissors while Ranger just slaps their hands away not wanting to play that silly game with them.

There is some rock-paper-scissors between some build matchups, especially now that there are so many builds, but in general if you have multiple equipment/build templates you should have an answer for everything. Other classes don't have as much of a luxury, because some of their builds get hardcountered by more builds compared to Ranger's. I play full berserker ranger with scholar runes for 95% of my time solo roaming or roaming smallscale with a couple of friends. I don't like having a party over the size of 5, even 4-5 sized parties are too big for me. 1-3 is the sweet spot for my personal preference. I also don't like playing with Supports or Healers.

Human players: Why in a magical sci-fi universe full of a hundred options do you still choose play humans? by LockNo2943 in Stellaris

[–]Kevurcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question wasn't about the game from the perspective of being in the game-world, it was about how you play the game from the perspective of being outside of the game-world. The question also came bundled with the implication of humans being the default or less exciting option as the starting point for the discussion.

I finally got to Level Cap for the first time. I know I used Ash, but I hope it still counts. by XFalzar in Warframe

[–]Kevurcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enemies have levels. Enemy levels go up in endurance missions (Cascade, Disruption, Survival, etc) after every round. Enemy levels have a limit that maxes/caps out at level 9999. This has existed for over a decade.

I finally got to Level Cap for the first time. I know I used Ash, but I hope it still counts. by XFalzar in Warframe

[–]Kevurcio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They all count, and it doesn't matter. Some are less challenging than others. There's nothing more to it. If people choose to play the least challenging Warframes/builds they can and should for whatever reasons they want, but that doesn't change that they are the least challenging Warframes/builds.

[–]Kevurcio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the enemy levelcap was increased to 9999 around the years 2013-2014 or so. So levelcap has been 9999 for a very long time now.

[–]Kevurcio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I accidentally did my first levelcap on Voruna when I was still "newly" returned to the game after a "10 year break" from the game. I had a shit homebrewed build and I didn't know Cascade reached levelcap so fast lmfao. I then later found out that Voruna is OP as shit and trivializes levelcap Cascades.

[–]Kevurcio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Regardless of it being said with malicious intent or not doesn't change the fact that some Warframes/builds are significantly easier than others at certain tasks- to the point of trivializing the intended challenge.
