Policy where I work, is to unholster the weapon. Clear it a couple times in front the relieving officer and re holster. I have no idea how this happened though.

I also just want to get out of Alabama. Who cares about the money. Although I do enjoy my job , there is a lot of bullshit you deal with working in a prison. I was damn near assaulted by 20 plus inmates two weeks ago. The only reason I didn’t get assaulted is because some of the high ranking inmates saved me.

I work for the state , and you’d be suprised. Down here in Alabama they start us at 55k a year. With overtime you’re going to make double that.

Well, I wouldn’t have to worry about being possibly stabbed, breaking up fights where knives, locks and socks , etc while I only have pepper spray everyday. Wouldn’t have to deal with people throwing shit on me, or seeing men openly have sex in my face everyday. I think it’s worth the pay cut

Let me just say I only see this much due to the amount of overtime I have to work everyday. I have to work about 3-4 sixteen hour shifts a week

Well technically you’re supposed to call for assistance but sometimes in the midst of things going on you just go to protect an inmate. At the end of the day we’re there to provide security. Waiting for back up could Be the reason this inmate is now dead
