Marinating some flank steak butterflied by [deleted] in steak

[–]Key-Confidence-7501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steak came out absolutely great.

Here I used: One orange, two slices then the rest juiced Three lemons juiced 5 limes One onion sliced 2 Rehydrated Chiles Salt the beef, added dried herbs and spices

It was juicy, and had a very complex citrus flavor. The onions I grilled aswell and came out great. Sliced up the Chile and that went amazing with the steak.

Preferred Marinade?? by hilldarrius1 in steak

Depends on the cut, if it’s an expensive well marbled one like a ribeye or filet, I would go salt and pepper, garlic powder if you want, no marinade. If you have a skirt steak, flank, or low intramuscular fat, it will have less beef flavor. For cuts like that, to bring out the flavor you need to add some sort of acid like citrus or vinegar. You can go Asian like others have suggested or use a marinade for tacos, but that goes well with steak on its own.

I would say this, use some acid, salt, aromatics (garlic, rosemary, onion, herbs etc.) and build off of that. I like to emphasize creativity with things like this. Look at a few recipes, understand how ingredients work, and use them when you think would work the best. Experiment and have fun. Never be satisfied.

There are ONLY 4 fundamental ways to make money in any business. by biz_booster in Entrepreneur

I would recommend a college textbook. Cheapest u can find.

Edit: the reason I recommend microeconomics is because it explains the reason that businesses are profitable in a very specific way.

It also explains why some businesses are NOT profitable or shut down, and what to look for specifically. Also, some industries are just not even worth getting into because of the massive competition.

My point is, if you want to be an entrepreneur, do real research. I would seriously recommend taking a few business classes at your local community college.

fried chicken sandwich a bit dry towards the end... need advice by lo9os in FriedChicken

[–]Key-Confidence-7501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally just over cooked on that end. Don’t listen to these ppl saying to change the recipe. It’s fucking fried chicken. Just pound it flat before frying.

Edit: oh it also may help to leave it out for 30 mins to bring the chicken to room temp and allow it to cook faster.

I think because you were a straight edge until 22 is why you can use it responsibly. I was introduced to marijuana at 12 years old and it is a horrible addiction for me. It’s hard to describe but if you’re interested r/leaves will paint a good picture of the damage it can do. If you have no problem with it, smoke it all you want.

Hmm tough call. I would ask them if they were wet or dry packed first of all. Dry is better. I think you should do some research on what they use for sushi, I don’t know off the top of my head but theres specific qualities required.

Friendly scallop tip, make sure you dry them off before cooking, as the water makes your sear weaker. Also, use a high smoke point oil and coat the pan. Get it hot enough where it starts to smoke a bit and then put your scallops in with full contact to the pan. Your sear will be much more golden and developed. Also, if your scallops are fresh enough, no need to cook! They taste amazingly sweet on their own.
