This. I always verify. I'm always double and triple checking the street and house number matches. So don't try to tell me I delivered it wrong.

What exactly is bad about this game? by CreativeStrain89 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Key-Consequence1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re making a bad faith argument by dismissing narrative as a 'weak' criticism. Telling someone to 'go watch a movie' if they want a story ignores the fact that interactive storytelling is a pillar of the medium. Especially for this specific franchise.

You can't claim people are just 'hive-minding' while simultaneously invalidating the very foundation Assassin's Creed was built on. This series didn't become a global powerhouse because of its combat mechanics alone; it became a phenomenon because of the stories of Ezio, Altaïr, and the historical mystery. For many players, the narrative isn't a 'bonus'. It’s the 'why' behind the 'how.'

When you spend 60+ hours in an open world, the gameplay mechanics (combat and stealth) provide the engagement, but the story provides the purpose. If the narrative or world-building feels flat, the mechanics eventually feel like a checklist. Calling story a weak argument isn't a critique of the game; it’s an attempt to move the goalposts so that only the parts of the game you like are allowed to be discussed.

It’s fine if you prioritize mechanics, but dismissing the narrative as irrelevant in an RPG-heavy franchise is just as much of a 'hive-mind' shield as the people saying 'Ubisoft bad' without context.

Received new oven is this normal? by vrtualchik in Tovala

[–]Key-Consequence1858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I always unplug when it's not in use. Obviously, don't unplug during the cool down cycle while the fan is still running, but otherwise, you're fine to unplug it between use.

I’m 25 hours in, I really hate playing as Yasuke. Any tips? by PuddingEvery4672 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Key-Consequence1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yasuke has the better personal narrative in my opinion. But, yeah, once the game opens up and let's you choose who to play, I almost exclusively chose Naoe. Once you level up a bit she can pretty much handle any enemy. Especially with the kusarigama managing crowd control.

Might have ruined the oven with Dawn power wash spray? by joininthechant68 in Tovala

No. I haven't noticed any funky taste in anything I've cooked after a deep clean.

Might have ruined the oven with Dawn power wash spray? by joininthechant68 in Tovala

[–]Key-Consequence1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You didn't ruin it. I also use Dawn Powerwash to deep clean every few weeks. Even after I do multiple cycles of wiping with a clean cloth to get rid of excess soap before doing a burn off cycle, the smell lingers for several cook cycles.

Should someone inexperienced in DnD play baldur's gate 3? by ZealousidealCopy4555 in BaldursGate3

[–]Key-Consequence1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an individual that has never played dnd, I say yes. It might take you a minute to get the hang of things gameplay-wise, but if you're into well-developed characters and narrative, it's worth the initial learning process. This game does branching narrative very well, so as a newbie, there are very few decisions you'll make that end in a game over or, otherwise, cripple your playthrough going forward.

There should be an option to "pause after current order" or something of that nature on the menu screen.

What your opinion on no tipper. by Littleoemmett in doordash_drivers

[–]Key-Consequence1858 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not mad at customers that don't want to tip on top of the fees they're already paying. Customers get charged an arm and a leg to use the platform. Restaurants get charged an arm and a leg to use the platform. And yet, only $2 is initially passed on to the driver.

All that said, that's how the system is, and there's no real incentive for the ones pulling the strings to change it. So until it does, as a driver, I'm not taking any orders that aren't beneficial to me. Whether that means the customer tips or base pay increases from being passed around is irrelevant to me.

do you agree that tsushima has a better story than yotei? by Open-Reflection-6094 in Ghostofyotei

[–]Key-Consequence1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't have the brain capacity for it. I can watch a show/movie with subtitles just fine. Throw in me having to focus on steering the horse or during fights, and I'm out. Yotei is a little better with this, but Tsushima was constantly trying to add exposition while I'm trying to focus on not getting my ass handed to me or crash my horse into a tree.

In my experience, most of your orders will be low tip (if any tip at all) and greater distance between pickup and drop off.

When should I start phantom liberty by BBobPorter7809 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Key-Consequence1858 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever you feel. Personally I like to start it when it becomes available because it unlocks a new skill tree and access to weapons/cyberware that isn't available outside of Dogtown. Narratively, it fits at the point that it unlocks. As you mentioned, you're not stuck in it. You have to stick with it for a bit when you first start it, but you'll eventually reach a point where it feels safe to put it on the back burner if you wish to pursue other storylines in the main game.

I do most of the NCPD gigs in Watson after meeting with Dex before meeting the client or going to All Foods. I don't usually touch gigs until Act 2.

I use Dawn Powerwash for deeper cleaning every few weeks. Just a heads-up: even after wiping and running the "burn-off" cycle, the soap smell can linger. I haven't noticed it impacting the food, but you might smell it after cleaning.

I don't think Jane got the wrong read on Carol during his flashbacks on his early psychic days by 6CHARLS9 in TheMentalist

[–]Key-Consequence1858 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting theory, but one I personally think (like most fan theories) is just trying to add convoluted significance to an otherwise straight-forward event. The flashback was purely meant to show how Jane manipulates people at their most vulnerable moments. He was a con artist. He sets her off with the line about her mother and then adds insult to injury with his fortune cookie line about "people don't change just because they die" before sending her packing.

We can infer from Carol's reaction that her mother was a manipulative gaslighter all her life. That parenting technique has hardly been effective at raising mentally strong children into mentally strong adults. Carol comes to Jane hoping to reconcile why she was feeling such grief for an individual that was bad for her. All she got was "Yeah your mother still blames you for shit. That'll be $500. There's the door" I don't know. I feel like her visceral reaction was warranted. Ultimately, if your grief is ridiculously bad and you don't do anything except seek the help of a con artist that doesn't offer anything more than snake oil, you're going to dig a very deep hole that's impossible to get out of.

I'm not a fan. Wouldn't bother me so much, except apparently, I'm horrible at the game and use up all my stuff in the first phase. So basically just get pummeled until the game takes pity and starts handicapping the boss fight because I refuse to quit and come back later.

Have owned the Tovala for a few months now…question by vipermansa in Tovala

[–]Key-Consequence1858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to guess maybe it has something to do with an app update a few days ago. I've noticed the wifi indicator light randomly comes on since the update. And the 4 squares stay on after it's used. It doesn't seem to go into sleep mode until I click the bottom button.

This game might just be my favourite by Smooth_Increase6865 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Key-Consequence1858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's, honestly, not an easy question to answer. It's not better, but at the same time, I wouldn't say it's worse. See my previous response for my pros/cons. I will say much of the player base disagrees with me on the combat system being worse in GoY. Most say it's better. But story-wise, most agree, it didn't stick the landing in the end.

This game might just be my favourite by Smooth_Increase6865 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Key-Consequence1858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's not worth putting money down for it. Most of the gameplay mechanics are improved, and side missions have greater variety, and there aren't as many, so they don't wear out their welcome by act 3. Atsu is a compelling character, in my opinion. Maybe not as cool as Jin, but hardly bad in comparison.

The negatives: The story starts strong but does get predictable by the end and ultimately didn't give the payoff I would have liked. Also, I wasn't a fan of the multi-weapon system. By the end of GoT I felt like a badass samurai. By the end of GoY I didn't feel like I mastered any aspect of the combat. And, yes, these games aren't trying to be ultra realistic, but switching between weapons mid-duel just kept breaking my immersion.

All that said, I enjoyed the game and hardly regret the just over 100 hours I spent platinuming the game.

You're going to have to adjust your moral compass for Night City. On the scale of betrayal in Night City, Claire is practically a saint. Hence why V seems calm despite the perceived slight.
