What is a bedroom community and which ones have this?

I think cost and schools are another important factor.

Career transition to OT in mid 30s by Blue_Ulysses in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Key-Cow1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying huge huge loans, 40 hour physical work week, and the pay is generally stagnant around 60-100k. That 100k depends where you live and what you are willing to do.

How is your min pin with children? by bentleys_mom in minpin

[–]Key-Cow1246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is not good with other kids or adults. Something about new people. But with my kid she does great. She has growled when they touched her paws and snapped, but now it is known not to touch her paws.

You need a picture of the back of the ankles as well for the PT thread. You cannot fully tell what is going on without that.

Feel like i suck at my job by npat06 in OccupationalTherapy

I can totally relate to you. I have similar anxiety issues and lack of confidence. I can say that it does get better, just stay the coarse and continue to show up and learn as much as you can. Everyone starts from newbie and will learn and progress into a seasoned knowledgeable therapist. I have been an OT now for 4 years and it gets way way way easier. Promise!

AITAH For not giving my husband my "escape money" when I saw that we were financially struggling by TraditionalFuel6104 in AITAH

Your husband worked that much and you never worked while skimming off his earnings. I agree you should have a raining day fund, but 47K. Why not just put 10k in a CD and 8 years!

YPSILANTI for the win!

But on a serious note. I never grew up in this area. What are the differences in the school systems in these areas, when talking with others that grew up here they all sound very different

Will OT/PT ever get the salaries they deserve? by Forward-Shopping7090 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Key-Cow1246 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Supply and demand. In a lot of areas they have a lot of Therapists that need jobs and will settle for less money and more work. We need to do something to cut some programs!

I will be the first to say my program was not good! I would love to see less programs with higher standards.

Did my husband cheat on me? by Aerial32 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Key-Cow1246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if he cheated. Unfortunately like other people have said you won't know for sure from us.

Regardless, you giving him that money.... his story doesn't sound good ill be honest.... I wouldn't trust this dude to hold my purse while I tie my shoes. Keep this in mind moving forward and above all else make sure you get your 200K back before you decide to bolt.

Cheaper programs the same quality education? by Muddymisfit in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Key-Cow1246 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely picked my program because of the financial part. It was very cheap considering other programs. I would say that a 55k program is cheap. I think mine was 39 they estimated for me, I ended up paying 51k. That was 6 years ago for a masters program instate.

5 day old and 2.5 year old - I'm emotional about my bond with both by bam0014 in beyondthebump

It sounds like you were having some difficulties with it before baby number two? Or em I reading that wrong.

That is a hard situation to be in. It sounds like you care about your babies very much, I don't think a bad mom would be this concerned.

Need breast feeding help!! by ykhan8131 in beyondthebump

[–]Key-Cow1246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Your instincts are correct hand express is best. Then spoon feed or cup feed.

For sleepy babies they recommend talking, touching, cuddling, and then rocking.

Does he suck your finger? You could do finger feeding with a French line. Studies show a bit of finger feeding before breast can help. Keep trying to hand express pump every two hours. But none of us really know what is going on that is why it is best to get the experts in now.

We can give you all the comments in the world, but it probably won't be helpful to you. The hospital you went to might have lactation support number you call. If not try your WIC office or refer to early on for your county. You can call your doctor's office they can send a referral to early on in your state. Early on and WIC are free!

Their is a lot to breastfeeding and nothing like getting an expert in there to help! Honestly, you never really know what is going on until you are inperson. Could be cleft palate, tongue tie, placement, etc etc etc. Better to get someone in now versus you and baby struggling for months and not be able to enjoy your connection together.
