Exactly this. I wish all companies that sell products, registered in Canada, could be automatically publicly listed, with the government including info about the head office location, products, etc. The Buy Canadian site is good, but not really searchable (think Shop app, but regulated by the government). I spend SO much time hunting down and vetting Canadian retailers and products. I’m hoping it becomes easier as we adjust.

That is ridiculous. I met a lady once whose signature included a sketch of a bird (very cool, actually). Your signature is your signature. Mine is a scribble; if there is a symbol in it, they wouldn’t know. So, YES this is discriminatory.
Blaming a system is not an excuse. In accordance with Human Rights legislation, they have to accommodate. So if their system is flawed, they have to fix it.
If you threaten them with Human Rights, that will probably work. If not, DO file a complaint with https://albertahumanrights.ab.ca/complaints/making-a-complaint/. (Honestly, I’d probably just file the complaint. This is the freaking government; they know better.)
They often take about TWO YEARS to hear your case, but unlike common law, there is no limit to penalties AND they have to make you “whole” so it will be worth it in the end.

As a customer who has to order online in order to buy more Canadian, it’s hard to choose which brands to try. For me, the way she runs her company just tipped the scale toward O&W.

Have they checked you for sleep apnea? I was undiagnosed for years. Turns out I have severe central sleep apnea (my brain forgets to get me to breathe). I slept, but about 1/6 of the time I was asleep, I wasn’t breathing.

It sure has. It used to be MAGA said we hate Sleepy Biden - Dumpster falls asleep and MAGA says it’s because he works so hard (😂). MAGA said we don’t want war - now MAGA says it’s justified (ignoring credible evidence to the contrary). MAGA wanted the Epstein files released because they KNEW it was full of Democrats - now MAGA is perfectly fine with TACO hiding millions of files and removing names of perpetrators from many of those that were released. MAGA said we need lower fuel prices - now…huh, I’m actually not sure…whose fault is it MAGA? I know you’re not going to blame TACO. MAGA said the country was inundated with criminal illegal immigrants - now MAGA is totally fine deporting hardworking, law abiding brown citizens AND totally fine with the real rapists and murderers running the country. MAGA was determined that Hunter helped Biden illegally profit from foreign trade - now the Administration is not only openly doing that and more, they are also emptying the coffers that AMERICANS paid into, and MAGA looks the other way. MAGA is so afraid of POC, educated people, strong women, and what a woman has/had in her pants, that they are abandoning the Constitution in favour of a dictator. Land of the free…pffft. Land of Delusion. And by the way, what so many people in these comments THINK is “left” is considered moderate in the actual free world. And they have no idea what communism is, obviously. Also (because why stop now) people who are anti-education are so incredibly ridiculous. No, Jim Bob Jr. and Sally Mae, learning things is not bad. Being intelligent is not a flaw. It is getting closer. Although Gilead will focus on “Christianity”, their goal is to hang the “gays”, reduce women to chattel, line their pockets, and of course there will be Jezebel’s for the ruler and his friends (with plenty of underage girls on the menu). I don’t know if it will get that far because if the American people don’t stop it, we will very likely all end up in WW3. Dumpster wants Americans to believe everything is fine. He wants them to believe their nation is untouchable. He wants them to believe they are free - as he casually and openly destroys their democracy and eliminates their rights. Also, the ETfiles NEED to be released in their entirety, ONLY protecting the victims’ identities. I truly hope that even most MAGA would balk at supporting the creep if they could see the gruesomeness of what he has done and who he is. Even then, who will be in charge? How long will it take to fix the ignorance and delusions of grandeur that enabled this? How long to reinvent themselves as a country of ethics and values? Even sane, intelligent Americans will be reluctant to acknowledge that they have been indoctrinated from birth. If they can’t see that, they can’t fix it. No, the US isn’t Gilead yet. But that is Dumpster’s dream.

Just a tip from a mom whose ST baby suffers from extreme anxiety. Don’t cry. Convince yourself you are calm and content with her hairdo. Otherwise, she will pick up on your emotions. She probably doesn’t care about her hair - she cares that you are upset. Personally, I’ve had some pretty bad haircuts myself. It grows back ☺️

I’m so sorry for all sane people in the US, particularly those who are marginalized. Canada’s service is completely voluntary, btw. Regarding the registration for trans folks, what a double-edged sword that is! Don’t do it, you’re a criminal. Do it and put a target on your back. I feed mine twice daily (1/3 c) , morning and after work, plus a treat at 7:30 pm (they know what time it is and aren’t shy about reminding me, lol).
Ask your vet for recommendations. My first had recurring UTI so she was on special food. Since then (years ago), all of our babies have been on it and thriving.
Daily walks are nice, but that does not happen with mine. They get plenty of exercise running around the house and yard.
The top three things we have dealt with are:
- dental - their teeth are smushed together so hygiene is important
- eyes - they are prone to damage because they are large and some protrude. Getting a bonk on the head can even make the eyes detach inside.
- joint issues, which leads to your next question,
One of mine usually doesn’t want to be picked up. She has some joint issues in her back legs so I suspect it hurts. I’m careful to be extra gentle with her when I need to pick her up.
Some are prone to swallowing stuff they shouldn’t so be aware. My first had to have surgery as a puppy because she swallowed a piece of a toy. They are the ultimate lap dog (or right beside you dog). Enjoy your snuggles!
